Hey guys, am a new BSN graduate and i've been applying for a job since august 2011 but havent even got a single offer. Anyways, I just finally got an offer in different state but am sooo broke that I do not have any money to accomodate myself. I am very depressed over this because its been almost 5 months, no job and finally got an offer but no money for relocation and accommodation....what would you do if you are in my situation?
(PS: I do not have any financial support from family/friends. Nursing school was my way out but its soo hard because it seems as if nursing is failing me)
Travel nursing? Unlikely folks. As the OP stated, she is a new grad. As a new grad I would be ill-prepared to work in an OOS hospital. Agency nurses are hired to replace an employee.....both of those are experienced.
The Church idea is an excellent one.
Although I would not ordinarily recommend this.....how about a title loan? I took one out on my car to relo for a job once. They are horribly expensive compared to normal bank loans, but they give you $ when the bank won't. Just a thought.
Thank you all soo much for your suggestions! I really appreciate them. @dudedette, I applied this position online. I have done many of the suggestions you guys mentioned, for instance, I have applied for over 150 jobs including nursing homes. In additon, I have applied to non-nursing jobs such as retail and yes babysitting as well but none have called. The job market is soo bad in Illinois is not even funny. I really thank you all for the encouragement tho, especially the one whom mentioned about calling the HR for accomodation. I have called them and they said they will let me know what they can do so am keeping my fingers cross.

Just a thought, but what about travel nursing? I think they give you a place to live, right? Or at least set you up with one.
