:uhoh21:Hello all! I am taking my Teas test on Friday and I am very scared. I have been studying for almost 2 weeks now and still feel like there is so much I need to study. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to eat or drink the morning of the test that will help with concentration? I need all the help I can get!:heartbeat

hopingipass,

Dont stress, You will do fine. Sounds like you are well prepared. The best thing you can do is get a good night's rest and eat a healthy breakfast(an egg, fruit, toast)..maybe try to stay away from too much sugar and caffeine. Allow yourself to be on time and take slow deep breaths. The test is not bad at all and sounds like you are well prepared. I am a severe worry wart and I did just fine!! Good luck

There is nothing the morning of the test that would improve concentration. Your overall nutrition and supplementation plays a large role in this and takes more than 1 morning to have any impact. I would recommend eating as many whole foods as possible, mininally processed. Drink tons of water.

I ate eggs and toast, 1 cup o' joe, plus brought a bottle of water, some nuts, dried fruit and a Luna bar to nibble on during the break. I get starving during tests! Good luck!

Best way to improve concentration = SLEEP!!

Also since you have a few days - take 5 minutes a day and close your eyes and settle yourself and breath and picture yourself walking into the testing site with no anxiety, sitting down and doing really well.

Don't eat anything "new" it might not sit well in your stomach! Protein is wise for long level blood sugar so eggs or yogurt. Oatmeal also is good for long level blood sugar. If you usually have one cup of coffee then stick to that. Nuts are really good - almonds or walnuts in your yogurt or oatmeal!

Calm and a good night's sleep. Especially on Wednesday night too!

Good Luck-

crossing fingers for you!!

You will do fine. You will be surprised at how easy it is because of all the studying you have been doing. Just relax. Eat a good breakfast -protein (eggs) toast, juice/coffee, and just settle your mind.

drink a gatorade

eat a fruit when you wake up

and before the test drink a green tea!

THANK YOU ALL!!!! 2 days left and its test day! I have thought about all of your kind advice and I think its really all going to help some.:kiss

It may be helpful to drink or nibble on anything you ate or drank -while you were studying-! Also if you wore a particular comfey outfit or something... Knowledge hides out in your food and clothing.

LOL I am joking of course! However, the brain DOES make associations and connections we don't fully understand.

I've been pretty neurotic about keeping things consistent during tests (my Starbucks and a mechanical pencil I love) and it has served me well so far. At the very least, it's a small source of comfort and familiarity at a stressful time.

Something else I always try to do (the few days before a test) is study right before I go to sleep. I am convinced the brain works on, organizes, and integrates new information very efficiently while we sleep (on an empty stomach). I can't back it up scientifically, but again.... paying attention to these details is how I function best.

Hope it helps! May the Force be with you! :wink2:

CZion,

We may chuckle inside at what you said but I think it's true also.Your brain works wonders as you sleep.I remember hearing somewhere that almost all of your problems can be solved in your dreams if you interpret them correctly. It's amazing and beyond my comprehension. Another funny thing is when I started school after like 10 years not being in school...I had my kids kiss my pencil for good luck before a test..now..2 years later I feel jinxed if they dont kiss my pencil before a test!!! funny huh
