Next year in February I will be applying for nursing school for Fall '14. I'm just curious to know what some of the GPA's were when you were accepted. Thanks in advance.
Thanks everyone for taking the time to respond. The university I'm at had an average acceptance GPA of 3.8 last year, so I wanted to get an idea of what other schools had. I currently have a 3.56 GPA, but if I get all A's this semester it will be a 3.78. 2 weeks left before the semester ends. Let's see what I can do!
My first undergrad degree (non nursing) GPA was 2.34. I got into my ABSN program with a 3.68 prerequisite GPA and a 3.4 science GPA. I'm not sure how I got in since my cumulative had to be around 2.5. My only guess is that since I was a transfer student they messed up my transfer GPA and just looked at my prerequisite GPA. Good luck.
Wait, this might be a stupid question, but what's the difference between pre-req GPA and science GPA? I thought they were the same thing
Keep in mind I did a second degree ABSN program, my Prereq GPA was based on A&P 1 and 2, general chemistry, microbiology, psyc 101, developmental psyc, nutrition, and biostatistics. My science GPA included some of the science classes I took for my first degree.
Just thought I would contribute to one of my old threads since I have been accepted the first time around to the only BSN program I applied to. I applied and got accepted with:
3.8 Cumulative
4.0 Science
95% on HESI
For those of you who were recently accepted, lets get this thread going again! And good luck to all of you that will be applying soon and/or still awaiting decisions :)
