Bachelors in Accounting to LPN
Since you already have your bachelors, why not go back and try to get your CPA instead? Probably less time consuming, and it'll open up more options for you in the future.

Summer Chemistry!!
I'm taking chem this summer as well! 6 week course. Kinda nervous because I remember disliking chemistry in high school lol. But I figured it's better to take it in the summer so I can focus all my time on it, instead of taking during the regular semester and balance it with 4 or 5 other classes.

Continue with business, nursing or both?
I'm a healthcare risk management major at my university who is also in the process of taking pre-reqs for nursing. I hope to enroll in an ABSN program after receiving my bachelors next year. When I talked to the vice president of my university's insurance sector about this, she said I was the first person she ever came across who's into risk and nursing lol. She said that if I eventually get my BSN in nursing, hospitals are going to LOVE me since many of the risk managers in hospitals and medical centers also have clinical background in nursing (although thats not necessary of course). So after discussing this with her, it definitely made me feel a little better about my situation. Because before, I felt like I was wasting my four years in college studying risk since I was kinda betting all my hopes on nursing. So now, the way I see it, perhaps I can pursue a career one day where I can utilize both my risk management and clinical skills!

Taking Chemistry in a 5 week session?
Deon - I'm planning on taking chem this summer too! 6 week course. Kinda nervous because I'm in the same situation as you. Wasn't a big fan of it during high school, but I'm hoping this summer will be different. I can't imagine taking it alongside AP1 though!

Volunteering - does it matter where?
I'm currently taking my prereqs now and I plan on applying to ABSN programs around Fall of 2014. I would like to start doing some volunteering to get some experience, but I'm not quite sure where. I volunteered at a retirement community for a couple years back in high school. I really want to go back and see if I can continue to do some volunteer work there, since I already "have my foot in the door" and don't have to go through the process of re-applying and interviewing. However, part of me wants to apply for volunteering at the local hospital, since wouldn't that provide me with my experience and learning opportunities? As opposed to a retirement community? But then that would mean I have to wait after applying, go through the interview process, obtain references... So any ideas to which option should I go with?

Favorite CNA skills/tasks to do?
Aw, I really enjoyed reading your post, especially the part about helping them dress up and look pretty :) I'm about to go for my CNA license this upcoming summer and hopefully find a part-time job somewhere while I'm finishing up my undergrad. I often hear stories about how CNAs hate what their job, and how they're often stuck with the dirty work. It's refreshing to hear stories from people who really seems to enjoy what they do!

What was your GPA when you got accepted?
Wait, this might be a stupid question, but what's the difference between pre-req GPA and science GPA? I thought they were the same thing

What was your Chemistry Grade?
Has anyone taken chem during the summer? I'm doing that next month, and I'm kinda nervous because I've never been a big fan of chem lol. So I'm not sure if it's gonna be a good idea to take in a 6 week duration!

What kind of computer should I buy for school?
I just wanna say that it's DEFINITELY possible to get through school with just a desktop computer. I live in a apartment nearby campus (temporarily), which is the only reason why I bought a laptop. But if you're living at home, I don't see why you can't just stick to your desktop. Even though I have a macbook, I never bring it to class or anything, because I always take my notes by paper and pencil (I guess I just prefer the old fashioned way haha!). And besides, most students that do take their laptops to class usually get distracted by facebook and other sites!

Chemistry and I are not friends.....

Chemistry and I are not friends.....
Oh man, going through this thread is making me extremely nervous for chem in the SUMMER! I always hated chem in high school, but I wanted to take it in the summer so I can just focus all my time on it, instead taking it during the regular semester alongside 4-5 other classes. Has anyone ever taken Generally Chem I in the summer? How was it like? Is it a good idea? lol

D in statistics
I suggest retaking it. A D in any class doesn't look too good on transcripts. And even if statistics isn't listed as a prereq for that particular program, a lot of programs do consider it as one. So it's better to retake it and aim for an A!

If half the class failed the course, who's to blame?
Saying that 45% of the class is about half isn't really off.. No need to nitpick at everything. But anyways, yeah, I figure I'm just gonna let it go. No use in complaining since it has been awhile. The only reason I brought it up now is because I was just recently informed of the failure rate of the class. I wasn't aware of it back then. If I had knew it was this high back then, I would've spoke with someone. Thanks guys.
