Stony Brook U Nursing Basic BSN Fall 2014 Applicants!
@Piwinskia , Did your professor give any idea on how many students they would be accepting into the program?

Being accepted... Is it a sign?!?
I am sort of in the same boat as you..... I was accepted into 2 Nursing programs of top 100 schools (According to US News) before I even finished all my pre-reqs(A&P,Micro, Chem, etc). I decided not go to either school but I am going finish my pre-reqs at the CC I am at. My parents would be paying for school for me but I feel bad making them pay 40-50k. When I could finish my prereqs for like 4k. I will be reapplying after all my pre-reqs are done and I would think if I keep up my good grades , I should be accepted again.

Gaining weight
Try drinking green tea or chewing sugar free MINT gum when studying. If you are going to have something sweet , drink a bottle of water with it because it flush the taste out of your mouth and you wan't crave it as much. If you want to increase your fiber.. Kashi Bars and Cereal, Trader Ones Granola bars(9g fiber per bar), and Fiber one brownies for your sweet teeth and have 5g of fiber. Also if you are studying for a long period of time and don't have time for the gym or to take a walk , take a break and do push ups, sit ups, lunges, etc... for about 5 minutes. It will actually help you retain more because it will help reduce stress. Also Weight Watchers is great but if you live at college it can be hard to do because the food on campus doesn't always have a way to figure out point values and you are not doing the servings yourself. Also you might be drinking and alcohol has a lot of carbs and the whole point of WW is to limit carbs and in college its hard to limit yourself sometimes. If you don't want to join WW , just get a small notebook and count calories , if you take in 1200-1400 a day , you should lose weight.

Need help with resume~ stressed out, please help
Try doing volunteer EMS if your area has it. It it better then an research job because it will actually put you in emergency situations with patients. You can try to volunteer at the hospital again just to add more hours onto your resume. Also you can try to get a job in the medical setting such as a Nursing Asst.

Will I be in over my head? Advice please!
I was accepted to SBU as a pre-nursing student for Fall 2013 but I am deciding to finish all my pre-reqs at another school then apply again to their School of Nursing ...But be careful because a Intro to General Chem at CC may not transfer over as their General Chem 131 at SBU. But for Pre-Calc as long as you do the HW and study , it shouldn't matter if you take it online or in class IMO.
