wow. those were my thoughts exactly. I enjoyed the class that tells about Advanced practice Nursing, etc. I enjoyed pharmacology, I don't even want to go into my feelings about research class, t-tests, z-tests, aaargh!!!

Theory was fun because it was sooooo much "fluff" it was almost entertaining to see what they wanted. I actually did learn a few good things in there and my prof was good.

So far Pharmacology has been my favorite AND my most challenging. What they teach us in undergrad is just the tip of the iceberg. I honestly think a graduate level pharm class should be required for everyone > 5 years out of nursing school.

For me, the clinical hours (practicum) have been the most fun. I love the new role.

As to worst - definitely research. Sitting in front of a computer and calculator, I thought my head would rotate 360 degrees and I would morph into Linda Blair.

Who's Linda Blair?

All this talk about research makes me wonder...have any of you tried qualitative research instead of quantitative? It's much less number consuming and much more focused on people/experiences than quantitative. I really like qualitative research, but I agree that quantitative does suck. Did you all like your stats classes? Just wondering.

And LOL, to wondering how anyone could do this all day! I am SO looking forward to getting my PhD and conducting research! LOL

Before you were born Linda Blair became a star by co-starring in the movie the Exorcist, which she potrayed a young girl possessed by the devil. I think Trauma was saying her head was spinning and she was looking like this. (BTW she got an academy award nomination for best supporting actress for this role, for which she was typecast and will always be remembered).

While I can't say that my stats and research classes were the most enjoyable classes ... they probably were the most useful ones. What I learned in those classes has enabled me to know which journal articles are pieces of "c***" and which can be relied upon for decision making. Being comfortable with information, stats, research results, etc. has given me the power to accomplish things at work and make positive changes. It has been much more helpful to my career accomplishments than the physiology, pharmocology, etc. classes.

As for enjoyable ... I always liked the ones that dealt with theory and philosophy the most. I enjoy trying to sift through complex ideas, playing with them, sorting things out, exploring twists and turns, etc. in a seminar format that includes good discussions with my fellow students.

I also liked the classes on how to do advanced-practice tasks -- such as how to plan an inservice, how to evaluate a program, etc. Those classes were very practical and generally enjoyable.

Haha...thanks! I figured she was an actoress, because when I Googled her name, nothing re: nursing came up, and everything was about her movies. :p
