What else can I do as an LPN?

I have been working in LTC & rehab facility and don't really love it...what else can I do where I still can apply a good amount of my nursing skills? I'm completing my RN and will be tested on my skills in a few months and ...if you don't use it, you lose it right?

You can work in outpatient clinics, ambulatory care centers, you might even land a hospital job depending on where you live and/or your willingness to commute.

In Ontario Community Home Health nursing allows us to use a wide variety of skills. Ports, piccs, piv, palliative care, feeds, diabetic mngmt, advanced wound care to name a few.

U can do home health. That's my personal favorite. It's a short visit 15-30 minutes. I got experience vwith insulin, wound care, med. Management. Pays $15-23 per visit. I like it cause not only good experience but u get paid for the whole hour even if your visit less than one hour.

Plasma or Blood donation centers- ull get to practice lots of "sticks" and adverse events :)

I'm a home health nurse. I do wound vacs, advanced wound care, med teaching, peripheral needle sticks and basically everything except picc/central line/port access. Med Surg basically. love the diversity of care, travel and seeing people get better and on with their lives.
