What do you eat in the morning?

I used to work 11a-11p and now I am going to 7a-7p. My other job is from 6a-6p, so I usually get up at around 4:30am. My 7a-7p job has about a 40 min commute. I find it really hard to eat at this time in the morning and right now I'm forcing down some yogurt. I also do not want to miss up the opportunity to eat because I might not get that chance once I get to work. From my experience in the ER as a night shifter, people start trickling in around 0600-0630.

So, what do y'all eat in the morning? I'm thinking about eating on my 40 min commute but I really don't want to stop anywhere, so I'd like something portable. I also like to eat something a little more hearty as my first meal of the day - eggs, bacon/sausage, toast, some fruit, etc.

I need protein in the morning, or will graze until I find it. Yep, eat during the commute. I made a breakfast sandwich the night before, ( use your imagination )grab and go.

Two words: breakfast burrito.

Take your favorite Ihop or Denny's breakfast (minus the pancakes) and slap it in a tortilla. It's staple in the south, but always seems to blow minds in the north.

Also, don't limit yourself to breakfast foods. Make a ham and swiss wrap with greens and avocado. How about some chicken fingers? Jack in the Box serves burgers AND breakfast stuff at 24 hours a day. If you're not too picky, cold pizza is easily eaten with one hand. How about a bagel with cream cheese?

Smoothies are always a good choice, but make sure to add some protein (powder, peanut butter, etc) for a little extra substance.

I love food, and have eaten all of these things for my breakfast.

It blows our minds because we don't have Denny's or Jack in The Box in the north.

Doesn't that get expensive?

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

On my feet all night--too tired to eat. But not too tired to post, apparently!:sarcastic:

I'm pregnant so right now it doesn't matter cuz it doesn't stay down....

But normally I do bacon and eggs toast. I work 11a to 730p so there is time for breakfast. I don't know what my struggle would be if I was early shift though...
