i'm guessing pharmacology will win???
Lu Ann.......What was the point of that class? I mean, why a "medical diagnosis"?? I just don't get it. And in front of the whole class? Uggghh..
Acckkkkk, didn't mean to scare you as you will have this same class in the third block :stone The point of the whole class was to recognize mistakes the MDs make and to question their errors. Basically, you had to think and act like a doctor in the class - order the right labs, know whether they need a CT scan, or a MRI, or a spiral CT, etc, etc. Nobody flunked the class, but the tests were killers!

Although there were classes that I hated, I wouldn't say they were "hard." I actually thought pharm was easy. I think either patho or obstentrics would win for being the hardest. We had really tough teachers for those. They wanted to know every little detail, every little gene in patho that caused every disease and all the little nasties in OB that caused all the problems, what to do for them, what the major causes of bleeding were, death, what ethinicities were at the highest risk, everything. We went through every chapter and every detail of the book in the semester
So far...It's a toss up between pharmacology and organic chemistry. I am only half done with Pharm, but it is tough! For our next exam (next Wed) we have to know 65 drugs! Crazy! Many of them are similiar, but there are still like 7 classes of drugs! It's no fun at all! Organic Chemistry wasn't much fun either, at least that's over!

I would have to say assessment during the RN portion of school. Humongous reading assignments and class consisted of a student portraying someone with a medical diagnosis, (sort of like the Seinfeld episode in which Kramer portrays someone with syphylis, LOL), you have to assess in front of the whole class, give a medical diagnosis, medical tests to run to confirm dx, then write a huge paper about it every week. This was only a one credit class that should of at least of been a 3 credit class according to the time spent in class.........not to mention the homework that required a Merck Manual to do! :angryfire
