What color are your school uniforms?

I thought this would be an interesting topic of discussion.

What color are the uniforms that you all wear to clinical rotations? The scrubs at the school that I currently attend are maroon. We have the option of wearing a white warm-up jacket on those chilly days.

When I was attending an LVN program back in 2004 and 2005, our uniforms consisted of a royal blue scrub top and white pants. We also had the option of wearing a white warm-up jacket on cold days.

I hate you all. We have to wear white on white on white. White leather shoes (no color) white pants, white top, white lab jacket and of course white undies because you can see through the ugly things. Not only that, but our tops have a big 'ole ZIPPER down the front instead of buttons. They're horendous.

And unfortunately we CAN'T bleach them because everything has our navy and yellow school patch sewn to it. So we have have white uniforms that you can't get stains out of. Awesome. *sigh* I will say the guys' are even uglier than ours though. At least our zipper stops a little bit before the collar. The guys' goes all the way up to their collar so it practically strangles them. Man they're ugly.

*eta* here are the girl's uniforms (page 5)

I have to say that this picture makes them look 1000 times better than they actually are thanks to the model being a size -10.

im sorry , i couldnt help but laugh. and ur right. they prolly look much better on that girl *im not convinced shes an actual nursing student LOL* then the normal girl LOL. well when ur out of school u can wear what ever u want :)

Peytonsmom,

That's the same hideous uniform I had to wear for LPN clinicals! With horrid tapered pants. And add some maroon trim. Gaaaah :(

I'm actually okay with my school's uniform. We have navy blue v-neck tops with a red strip around the sleeve cuffs and white pants. By some stroke of luck the school chose a very thick white pants. They breath pretty good but you can't see through them. And then we have the typical white lab coat and white shoes thing too.

Same here. :o

Ditto the ugly whites. They do not have sizes that fit. Either much too big or too small. :angryfire

We haven't actually gotten our uniforms yet, but I've seen a pic. White scrub top with the school logo, green scrub pants, lab coat. I was pleasantly surprised though, I was worried they would do something horrifically ridiculous since our school colors are yellow (or gold or whatever you wanna call it haha) and green

Mind you, this was 1969: Pink dresses with white bib & cuffs. Girdles were mandatory, and underwear had to be all pink or all white. Can you believe it?

Should have mentioned that we had 2 men in oiur classM they wore all white. Thank heavens! I also wanted to mention shoes: we wore Clinic oxfords and when we polished them we had to polish the bottom where the sole did not touch the floor.AND our :em had to be 12 inches from the floor, so in a line, they made a line. Well, since this my second post, I obviously could go on & on.

Navy blue V neck scrub top, we can pick our own white pants ( I have a pair of iguana med and one pair dickies)of course white shoes and then when had the option of buying the navy blue scrup jacket to wear. Oh and I wear nude colored undies under my pants because you usually can see white under white. :D

My great aunt was a Scottish hospital matron of the "old school". She inspected bloody everything about her nurses. Including hem length and straight stocking seams.

I wouldn't have liked to be on the harsh end of her tongue...no way!
