  1. I had turned SMS off to this site - just tuned in to see if any interesting topics. Quickly have been reminded why I tuned out - such judgmental crap.
  2. I agree ineffective is a better descriptor than poor.
  3. Poor family coping skills d/t deficient knowledge and understanding of educatioin
  4. Amen. The sisterhood is not for sissies. I'm not sure when I learned to both live with my limitations and push beyond them.
  5. Been a nurse 37 yrs - I'll let you know when it all comes together for me. I cannot believe all the stuff you guys have to learn!there has been so much progress since I was in school.I've said here before that I believe there were only 10 meds I had to learn! Now - pass meds with Epocrates on my blackberry! Trust me, your classmates are confused as well.
  6. Wow! No way you can take the course c0ncurrently with your last classes? Have you approached the prof of your failed class? I failed aclass my very last term - my prof allowed me me to do a paper. It was chosen by the prof and I had only a tiny bit of time to do it. He did not offer this to me - I had to pitch it real hard with real passion and real tears. Best of luck - I truly feel your pain
  7. Yes!I know pharmaceutical companies sometimes hire RNs I know some nurses work at Procter& Gamble. I currently have an application in for Research Nurse at Jewish Hospital.of cincinnati. (Health Alliance of Cincinnati) Good Luck!
  8. It is a tough profession, it is a calling. And it is tremendpously gratifying. I was debating the next part of my response, but then you practically invited me to share it. I always plead my case (at major forks in the road) on my knees, in church. Think me loony if you must, but I have never failed to get a response! Never!! I think you'll regret giving up the gratification. Is it your calling?
  9. Diane 227 is correct:legal nurse consulting, UR, QA, management certainly do require some clinical experience, at least in Ohio. Acedemia would be a good fit, perhaps. As a student, I loved My Trends and issues class. Possibly that would not require clinical experience?
  10. Wow! If you enjoy theory, what about nursing education? One of the reasons there is a nursing shortage is that there is a shortage of nursing educators.
  11. Lack of turgor, thickened.
  12. Frankly, I can eat a sandwich with one hand while I disimpact somebody's granny with the other. No problem. But nobody wants to hear about it
  13. Burnout is a terrible phenomena - nursing is so hardphysically, intellectually and emotionally, so it is not a mystery that birnout occurs. Especially when trying to balance that with the demands of life. I dealt with burnout bymoving to a new area of nursing when I started to feel cranky. It worked for me plus it has provided me with a diversity of experience thatI am very happy with.the current economic climate and talk of "reform" has everybody nervous and afraid.
  14. Bless your heart. I think you've disappointed yourself more than anyone. (I'm familiar with that) it'll get better; you are going to finish? It is tough. Positivity comin' at you!
