What classes are you taking? Fall 2016

Published

Just thought it might be nice to have people to chat with over the course of this semester!

I'm taking:

A&P I

Statistics

Speech

Nutrition

School starts for me tomorrow!

Specializes in Emergency.

I had my first day of classes yesterday. They went well, but I can see this is going to be a busy term. A&P looks intense, but I'm excited about it!

It is that. It goes so quickly and it's SO much information, but I'm loving the class.

In that vein, I got a 90 on my first lab exam. I wish I had done better, to be honest, but I'll take it.

That's a great first score! Now you will only do better because you've been through it once.

It is SO much information. I plan to go into the lab on my days off to study the models.

Lab report for Chem was painful. Not sure if I did it correctly. A 4 page worksheet, 6 typed up questions, 1 page abstract, some work on Excel, a graph, and a few pages of equations. Was tedious do feel I learned something ha.

This week have to work on 2 study guides. One for my AP histology exam next Monday. Then a Chem exam Wednesday. Have to finish my lab report for next week and prep my lab book for Chemistry. Finish reading Chem chapter and do practice homework.

I more nervous of the AP lab exam in a few weeks. There is only 2 exams the Instructor won't give a review of the exam from what I heard.

Have to work Sunday eve and have to be at class by 6 30 Monday morning eek for AP.

Are you in Intro to Chem or something else? That sounds like so much work!

I had my first Nutrition exam last week, got a 93. Stats test this week, and I turned in a huge project for Speech yesterday.

And it's almost October. Time flies!

Intro Chem. I feel the class is less structured and Lans are very structured. Where it's the opposite for AP. I like the structure lot of work, but I learn a lot. Forgot have Chem graded homework due next Monday I believe and Chemistry safety data sheet have to type up on questions working on. Thankfully only doing 24 hours this week of work then my normal 32 think I be screwed for next week ha.

Really want to do good on this AP exam. First grade was a 76. Should of been an easy exam teacher gave us all the questions. In the process of transcribing what he told us on the exam must of missed a few. So trying a new strategy. Creating a study guide from notes on Word, then an answer guide on Word on quiz questions, and going to see if I can create a quiz on Quizlet.

Omg yes. I am in A&P and also math for health sciences. Plus English. I have stopped since I started 6 weeks ago. P

AP Instructor wants to avoid students taking the final because he said it's nearly impossible for anyone to achieve a 90 on the final. Said if we can do squats arms extended clenching fist continuously for 30 minutes no stop can achieve a 4.0 in class. Other option is on the next 9 exams if can achieve 84 or higher will receive a 4.0. If you do achieve a 90 on the final you automatically receive a 4.0 for the class.

I'm taking my last two prerequisites: Microbiology and Statistics and I'm devoting every single free moment I have towards getting As. Its been a long and difficult road and a little scary considering I'm not even in a nursing program yet. However, I always finish what I start and I'm very excited about being a nurse soon.

I just took my first statistics test and it was so easy that I feel like I must have missed something and failed. Does anyone ever feel like that? It took me 20 of the allotted 120 minutes.

I'm hoping I have the same experience as you because my first Stats test is Tuesday. My professor is amazing and I feel very confident which is huge since this and Chemistry were my two most feared courses. I slid by Chemistry in the summer with a B+ (and I took it and ran).

Wondering if anyone has any study tips? So AP exam is Monday. I made an outline of notes, typed up the questions on the quiz, and set up stuff on quizlet. I can match words with definitions and complete multiple choice words. Still trouble with writing definitions.
