I am going to be attending Wright State University and I want to be in their nursing program. These are the last pre reqs I need to get accepted. I want to go to school full time. Can anyone tell me what classes are best to be taken together?

What you end up taking and when typically depends on what schools are offering and when - and how fast you want to go. You have seven classes. You can take 3 in one semester and four the next. Or you can go for three semesters. Or you can accelerate things by taking 6-8 week courses instead of 16 week courses. Some classes are easier online and it's the opposite for others. If you work ft then you may be limited in the classes that you can take in person. So those are decisions you have to make.

Here's a sample schedule:

Semester 1:

A&P I

Chemistry I

Semester II

A&P II

Organic chemistry (community colleges and universities in my state tend to require you to take college chem I and II before you can take organic. Maybe this is not the case in your state but check with your advisor).

Semester III

Micro

English can fit in wherever you feel you have time for it. Check with the school you're applying to about the psychology. They will let you know whether what you have already counts or not.

I am attending Wright State and just finished all the pre-reqs you are about to take. remember that alot of those science classes have labs also, depending on the class this can be like a whole different class. I would break up the sciences, Meaning take micro, then anat 310, then ant 311. I took anatomy 1 and micro at the same time and I don't suggest it unless you have to. I would fill in the other classes to round out my schedule ( Psych, English, Chem ). Micro is tough but doable, you will love anatomy at WSU the instructors (Miska and Ritucci) are awesome. check the schedules Micro is only offered twice a year I think. You will have to start anat in a cycle when 310 is offered. Take stats during the summer with G.Dahl. all those classes seem like a big mountain but you can do it, I did. good luck and I hope you enjoy your time at WSU.

I can't PM yet, but to answer your question I had Dr. Lawrence Cerny for both Chem 101 and 102. he was an older man and I don't think he teaches anymore, if so take him. he used to only teach in the spring and fall quarters. for your psych class I hear Gordon is good to take. for Psych 110 I had Gina Thomas-Daniels and she was pretty good. use ratemyprofessors.com for the english teacher, there are so many there. good luck

Does WSU require an entrance exam to the program?

Thanks in advance

sem 1) Chem, English, Stats

sem 2) O-chem and anatomy and physio I

summer 3) Micro

sem 4) A and P II, Immunology 220

this is how I would do it.

I'm doing similar at a different place..

semester 1 (summer 1): anatomy + physiology 1

semester 2 (summer 2): anatomy + physiology 2

semester 3 (fall): chemistry and developmental psychology

semester 4 (spring): microbiology and organic chem

I have to do it spread out because a. where I chose to go, you can't take 2 science classes during a summer session, b. they all have labs which take up a lot of the day, c. chemistry is a prerec for microbiology and organic chemistry. It works out for me though, because the program I want to get in starts in June.

Try and map out your classes based on the college's requirements in regards to prerecs, scheduling, etc. Remember, if you give yourself more time, you'll likely get better grades.

Good Luck!!
