What do you have to buy for classes other than books?

Ahh, I just need to get some more tshirts and jeans... You could probably find the white stockings at most stores... If they are a special kind for nurses check at the uniform stores...

As a new nursing student I have to buy:

*An all white student nurse uniform

*All white nursing shoes

*All white support stockings for nurses ( I need plus size, too,

any suggestions?)

*A student nurse polo shirt with my school & program logo on it &

a pair of Khaki or navy slacks to accompany

*A name bag

*Aside from text books the Davis Drug Guide, A medical

dictionary, & Labwork Guide

*Basic accessories : pen light, etc...

I will stop there !!!! So much... not enough time or money :eek

Oh... I almost forgot!

As far as clothing... I don't have money to go school shopping right now (YES, at the age of 22 I still go school shopping for clothes) :)

i am going to purchase another pair of shoes, but i am not getting them until a few days before clinical starts. the ones i have now, i work in.

I need shoes, have everything else. Life Uniforms is a really nice store, I would think that they have plus size. They have so many neat things there, love their choices in lab coats.

I had to get all those same things too, but we also needed a clipboard. So....

I got the coolest one. It has a calculator on the top and all kinds of nursing tips and stuff that I'll need to remember. I am more excited about that than anything else!

I got the clipboard at the uniform shop that sells our uniforms....hardly ever use it though.......You would be surprised at the mass of items that I go through....

copier paper, index cards,(for drugs and dx) tapes and batteries for the recorder, sturdy backpack, PENS! stapler, highlighters, small note pad (fits in my pocket at clinical) paper clips, white out, (amust for care plans!) scientific calculator, hole punch, binders, notebokks (for lecture) several NCLEX review books, ADVIL, ponytail holders and barretts (for clinical) and so much more.....the list goes on, but these are the things that I use the most!

index cards and a stapler...yes gator those are a must.

altoids in clinical go a long way, too. (never know when you need minty fresh breath). I usuallt take a red pen, too. this highlights important stuff to remember or remind me of stuff i forgot.....
