hello guys. I passed nclex California and its about to expire this February. Im planning to endorse my license to Vermont(since its one of the state im eligible to reciprocate it), but after learning that it costs less than $800, it's a bit expensive. Could you please tell me the benefits of endorsing the license to other state? Is it going to be a big deal if i don't endorse it for 1year?
thank you very much
hoping for your response and help.

According to the Vermont Board of Nursing the cost for Endorsement on the application is $ 150.00. Since only you can know how many other RN licenses you have currently the cost ofr NURYS verification would vary dependent on those licenses. I am unsure how you arrived at a $800.00 dollar figure?
Search for the Vermont Baord of Nursing website. Check the PDF file for RN License by Endorsement. That application has everything you need to know about the process.
Good Luck

actually I'm from Philippines, so aside from $150, there will be additional charges. Im supposed to endorsed it through an nclex application center here in our country and it will cost $800 in total. Is it going to be easier if i'll do it myself? Feb12,2012 is the expiry date, im afraid i wont be able to process it at exact date, will there be any additional charge for late documents? thank u ver much

If you are only a NCLEX passer then you are not yet licensed (I am guessing because you do not have a SSN?) and you do not have a license to endorse. You would still need to apply as a new nurse license by examination and then transfer your NCLEX results (for a fee) from CA to VT. The endorsement application is only for those already licensed as a nurse. You would be responsible to pay the fees for license by examination and then the credential evaluation fees.
The benefit is that you would actually be issued a VT license as an RN (and thus an RN) (assuming you meet the criteria for licensure) instead of being an individual who is an internationally educated nurse that happens to have passed the US licensing examination.
ETA It is my understanding that your NCLEX result does not expire but at the 3 year mark is when CA will destroy your application file. But still I wouldn't wait to transfer the results in case the rules change. It is my understanding that you should be able to submit all the documents yourself without the additional cost of an agency.

You cannot endorse your license until you actually have a license to endorse.

I'm appalled that there are people who have the nerve to charge $800 in the Philippines for US license processing! I am even more shocked that there are people who refuse to follow step by step instructions from the internet and would rather shell out $800 for a company to assist in US license processing.
thank u very much for your reply.

so u mean to say its okay to have my nclex result transferred even after its expiry date?(feb 2012) . but much better if i still process it now even before there's sudden changes. is that what u meant? im sorry, i just want to make sure because i dont want to be fined for late documents.
but im planning to transfer it on march 2012. thank u so much
by the way, ces also costs a bit expensive.. about $300 then the vermont fee $150...i guess i have to work double time for that reason.

Oh please, take note, as been explained before, you cannot endorse something that you do not have in the first place! This is considered an insult to those that do have an RN license in the correct sense
You can however apply to another nursing board to assessed to be a licensed RN using your NCLEX results from another state.
Even as an Australian, I get it, that a pass in the NCLEX is not a license but one of the requirements for a license as well as social security number, which if you do not have then, you do not have the right to have a CA license and therefore are not a licensed RN in that state.
...and as for all these questions on how long everything takes......time nobody can give a definitive answer, nothing happens overnight time something that you cannot hurry up.
