HI all just wondering what everyone does or has done? What areas have you worked in or would you really like to work in?

Hi!! I just graduated from nursing school over the weekend and my new job will be in Med-Surg. I actually like it, while about everyone I talk to hates it and thinks I am crazy... so hopefully I won't end up hating it!!!

I have worked L/D newborn nursery, long term care ,Family practice Home health and Hospice. Currently at the last two. I have loved them all! I have been a nurse for almost 20 years, and am trying to decide if I am going to finish my RN. I did Excelsior for a while, and have three tests to go before clinical, and boards, but the catch all my other tests were good for 5 years, well, this is the 5th year and I have to finish before Dec. What do I do? I don't think I can finish in time>

In the ER, where I will stay till I quit.

Have done;

MS

Women's Health

PostPartum

Level 2 Nursery

I think i would like the NICU or PICU...but who knows im still at the early stages of nursing school.

I'm in emergency now. LOVE it.

I was in IMCU before. HATED it.

It's just a matter of finding the specialty that fits your personality best.

im so excited to get out there and try some different areas. My question is it hard to get experience in different areas, i mean how hard is it switch to a different specialty after you worked on one floor?
