  1. I get $30.00 a week stipend, for gas but no mileage, I too had to get a more fuel effecient car. Our PCAs don't get anything for gas. We work for a privately owned company not gov/t related.
  2. I. too feel called to Hospice nursing. I have been an LPN for 20 years. but only got the hospice calling this year. I am starting an advanced placement program to get my RN next month if my financial aid goes through. I hope to be a Patient care coordinator with the agency I am currently doing every other weekend and prn with. I am 43! have 2 teenagers and a husband, work full time with a home health agency during the week. Play guitar and sing in a bluegrass gospel band. I teach young adult singles Sunday school class and Ga's on wed night. I also raise Chihuahuas. I know I will haveto cut back when I start school, but with the Lord's help and guidence he will get me where he wants me to go. I can do NOTHING without him. I don't mean to sound preachy but that is just how I take things. We each have to do what wotks for us. God's way just happens to be my way also. :Melody:
  3. I have been a LPN for 20 years, and I have been accepted into an "advanced placement Nursing" program. I feel that I have as much ability as an RN, to do what ever type of nursing I choose, but some areas of employment don't feel the same. I feel that my clinical skills are as good if not better than some RNs. I work part time with Hospice and I want to become a patient care coordinator, so, I need to be an RN. We, will see...
  4. I have worked L/D newborn nursery, long term care ,Family practice Home health and Hospice. Currently at the last two. I have loved them all! I have been a nurse for almost 20 years, and am trying to decide if I am going to finish my RN. I did Excelsior for a while, and have three tests to go before clinical, and boards, but the catch all my other tests were good for 5 years, well, this is the 5th year and I have to finish before Dec. What do I do? I don't think I can finish in time>
  5. :rotfl: I just joined this week so I am still learning how things work! Hope to get to know all our co-nurses in SC, but esp in our area! :Melody:
  6. I have been an LPN for almost 20 years, and I have seen a lot! I have worked with new RN graduates, and most have appreciated my experience and some have not. I don't mind sharing my knowledge gained through experience.
  7. I am in Batesburg SC I have been a nurse for 20 years and want to finish my RN. hope to get some input about this. :balloons:
