What agencies do you all travel with?

I have not traveled in a while and am considering it. In the past I have traveled with AMN, had a decent experience, but this time around want to get on board with a few different agencies in case one assignment falls through and want to have the flexibility to choose. So besides AMN, what other companies do you all travel with? Thanks to all in advance for your replies!

I'm signed up with five....no wait I think it's six now. Oh my...I'm starting to lose track :sneaky: I've traveled with two of them so far. My procedure is to send a mass email (bcc of course to each recruiter) stating desired locations, shift, and salary range (I usually give a minimum net per hour based on comparisons I've done from FB and forum travel nurse pay sites). If there are multiple locations I'm interested in I rank them too to give them some idea. So far I'm hooked up with RTG, Nursesrx, Trinity, Atlas Medstaff, MSN, and Faststaff.

Nice agency mix! Where can you find travel nurse pay sites?

On Facebook. Search for Travel RN Group and Travel RN: The premium job board. It's a mix of recruiter posts and Travel rn s posting their pay packages. Pretty enlightening. The recruiters are encouraged to post the specifics of the entire package, not just the blended rate. I pretty much just lurk cause I don't want my real name plastered all over the place but a lot of peeps have no problem putting their contracts up on the site and asking for advice.

Thanks. I have heard of that job board sponsored by MSS but I didn't know they posted full compensation. I'll have to take a look.

I took a look at the premium job board tonight. I must say that Facebook tech does not make for an efficient job board. You have your work cut out researching there! I did find one agency posting out of the world crisis rates for a job in Oakland: $95 for medsurg! Could be bill rates posted rather than pay rates but that is still very high. I'm calling them tomorrow to find out the real scoop. One of the issues is that posts do not appear to be listed chronologically, and this one, although interspersed with ones from the last couple of days is actually over three weeks old.

The rest of the posts there looked like ordinary pay rates although admittedly on the higher side. Elsewhere, I've seen a lot of OR assignments posted at L&D crisis type of rates: $70 to $100 an hour! Mostly in expensive housing areas of California, but also Bakersfield. Good time to be an OR nurse, just wish I hadn't had to work 20 years first at lower pay.

I could not find these Travel RN premium job board groups mentioned above on Facebook. Or on Google. How else can I search them? Or perhaps someone can PM me links, please?

Thanks Ned, I was typing "Travel RN" instead.

What were you able to learn?

Recruiter said it was the pay rate! But it sounds like he never placed anyone and the crisis rates are now over. It was Alta Bates in the San Francisco area east bay, a hospital that uses a lot of travelers at rapid response rates. Travelers tend to dislike it because of frequent floating. I've not worked there.
