What does admit mean?

Published

Hi! This is my very first post on this site. I am a high school senoir and I really want to be a NICU nurse. When I read other posts, many people mention "admit" What does that mean to admit? Do NICU nurses admit in their job? Any comments would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Wow. I didn't think that my question would cause this much contreversy!! Yikes! Well, even though she posted something negative about nursing, that doesn't change my dreams. I still definatly want to be a nurse. Especially in the NICU. I will not let anyone change my mind. Thank you to all the posters that supported me!

AND INDEED WE'D LOVE TO SEE U FULFILL YOUR DREAM- KEEP ON KEEPIN ON GOOD LUCK FROM ONE NURSE TO ANOTHER:welcome:

Run girl, RUN!!! Women have to study about money and how to make money!!! Don't be a nurse.

Hear my advice now. Don't waste your time studying nursing. Learn about money and computers. If nursing was so great you would see all the shirts in healthcare sending their daughters to do this, but you never hear one of them sat that their daughter is going to be a nurse.

Oh, I get it! You're trying contrubute to the nsgshortage! :uhoh3:

I love my job!! This is a second career for me. I left a great paying managment jobs because I was not about making money, (or making other people rich, really) I would come home an empty shell, wonder what difference I made in the world today and repeat that day after day.

I am sorry I wasted so many years as a "shirt".

An innocent question from a high school student has gotten completely off topic, mostly responding to one person's diatribe.

How sad.

Keep on dreaming, studying and moving towards your nursing career. Please. We need you and welcome you.

PS. Remember to report problem posts instead of responding. Thanks!

Agree with prmenrs - back to the topic at hand. I think the origianal poster's question has been answered sufficiently.

I don't think it got OT at all. The OP posted she dreamed of being a NICU nurse and we all, save for one, encouraged her. If we all had ignored the "problem post" this young person may have gotten an impression that that person spoke for the majorinty. We are defending our profession and career choice in post where that was adressed.

I hear you, Dawn. You have a good point.

I would perhaps recommend that the OP read the sticky entitled "What do you love about the NICU?" It has been incredibly encouraging for me. And, another poster had suggested that you job shadow in this area - a super idea. Good for you for having focus and vision!

The OP's question has been answered. After discussion w/other mods, I'm closing the thread.
