WGU RN-BSN 10/01/11 start...anyone with me?

Published

Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone else is starting this program Oct 1st....? maybe we could start a support system of sorts....I am excited to finally get on the road to finishing this degree:nurse:!

Hi guys!! I will be starting OcT 1st as well. Im in Los Angeles :)

Wootwoot! Cant wait to get it done!!! :D

Specializes in Emergency Nursing, Endoscopy Nursing, me.

ok ..big question... I am going to email my enrollment counselor but maybe someone here knows....I was clicking around the student portal today and i clicked on the grades area and noticed that they are listing the term as 08/11 to 12/31/11??? I am hoping that is a mistake as my start date is 10/1 and I assumed the 6 month term started then, not when i initially applied to the school (08/11)...anyone have any insight???

just checked the website and they say terms start beginning of each month. hope it means the month you start classes....so anxious to start

That is more likely an error the term starts when you first start on October 1, 2011. It will probably be corrected on or before your start date.

Specializes in neurology, cardiology, ED.

Got my transcript eval, finally! Aside from Microbiology, which I knew I would have to take, I don't need any other extra courses, just the nursing ones! I'm very happy about this, I was sure I would get stuck taking statistics or bio chemistry! Now I have to go in to my employer tomorrow and try and finagle some tuition assistance!

BTW what program(s) are we all starting? I am doing RN-MSN education track, hoping to have at least the BSN portion finished during this first term... what about everyone else?

Specializes in Telemetry.

I am planning to finish the BSN portion this term too. We can do it!

I am doing RN-BSN. I have 29units total to complete.. Nursing courses + nurition & biochem.. Planning on completing the program in less than 6 months.. Other people have done it in the past so I know we can do it too!! :) 1 more week guys....

Specializes in Telemetry.

Thecoolnurse, you can do it. It is doable.

I'll be doing the RN-BSN program.

86toronado...just curious, have you taken a chemistry class in the past? I took a 4-credit general chem class at a university and was crossing my fingers that it would meet the biochem requirement. No such luck. However, I don't have to take statistics. I've never taken it so not sure how I weaseled out of that one.

Anyone going to be working full-time while in the program? I'm going to try and have already told the family that I'm going into anti-social and unavailable mode for the next 6 months, lol.

Specializes in addiction nursing,/ med surg.

yes I'm working full time, 3 12hr night shift, have 3 kids under 6yrs old, think we can do it.:)

Im also working full time, mon-fri 8-hr shifts... :)

Specializes in ICU, Telemetry.

I do 3 12hr shifts (nights) and work at least 1 day per week with hospice or in the ER. Waiting on my transcript eval. I think I'm going to need nutrition and biochem, then the RN-BSN classes. Hopefully, if all goes well, this time next year I'll be in the beginning of my NP at Frontier.

Another 3 years with no money, no social life, and no time off...*grin*

I work 3 or 4 12hr shifts a week in the ICU, I have 2 kids...one is 7 and one is 5 weeks old! ECK! I go back to work from maternity leave and start WGU at the same time :(
