WGU Prelicensure '22 - '23 Houston Cohort

Updated:   Published

Hi, my full application with a requirements was submitted last week. I am just waiting to hear back. I applied for the Houston location because they have more start dates than the Woodlands location. I live very close to the Woodlands though. Anyone else has applied and waiting to see if you were admitted?

It’s embarrassing to say that I got only 41% and ran out the time, so couldn’t finish the test

I heard people say not to read the passages and go straight to the questions. I guess I will be doing that on the next test

Math 92 science 89 English language 70 and stupid reading 41?

It’s nothing to be embarrassed of. As long you know what went wrong you should be good. I had a 64% on reading and a 53% on English usage. I ran out of time too. I hate standardize tests with a passion.

Sorry to hear that, I also hated the reading part because of time, even though I got 73% on the reading I also ran out of time too, I had to guess the last 5 questions on reading LOL

@FutureRn8897 have you retested yet?

No I haven’t. I got higher than 60% on reading and overall grade so that’s all that matters. I heard a lot from previous cohort that even if reading is 60.1% they’ll take it. Seems like the TEAS isn’t a huge factor but the grades is.

TEAS that I took is not nursing related LOL, HESI is way more related to nursing than TEAS

I’m going to post this in case y’all didn’t receive the email. Apparently now students will be accepted into any clinical location in a 60 mile range. I hope this means more hospitals are in network.

OMG! I just noticed that in order to be accepted they now will be taking the HESI A2 test and a nurse admission essay. Do y’all think this pertains to the students that already applied and are just waiting for admission???

I’m so worried now ?

I hope they don’t make me start a new admission process.

I just called the enrollment counselor and she said the new program change will apply to students who still haven’t finished the admission steps. The students who finished and are waiting for admission; they’re need to take the HESI, nursing essay, etc only if they’re not accepted by July 2023. I was so panicked earlier Lmaooo
