Hi all,
Is anyone applying for the prelicensure RN program in CA with a May start date? I just finished submitting my application, so the waiting begins. I'd love to hear from others, and good luck to us all!
Good to know Emmree - thanks. Yea I would email again. I had my initial call last week and will do enrollment tomorrow.
I just reread the email and it said she would be back this morning at 8am. I do the online orientation tonight at 8 so I'm going to email tomorrow once I finish the orientation so I have nothing to wait on if she wants that finished first.
You are moving through quick Emmreecpt! I just started med dosage- how long did it take you to get thru the course
Just passed my exam!! Got a 78 on the preassessment and an 87 on the final.! Woo!!
Honestly, not too long. I think 3 weeks total but I didn't touch it for a week and a half of that total time. I also "started" early since I finished biochem early.
It kind of clicked for me. I took chemistry at my CC this last semester which taught me dimensional analysis and I think setting up the equations that way was a lot easier than the other ways they teach you to set it up. All the units cancel out and you know you've got it right if you end up with the correct units. The conversions were also covered in my chem course so there wasn't new concepts just new ways of using them. I scheduled my final 1 weeks after my preassessment and was so busy I didn't study at all. I did a 30 minute review right before I took the test and did surprisingly so much better.
That's great!! Congrats on passing! How long was the test? I hope to get through the material in 1 week
I only took the PA once so there wasn't much to compare it to. In my opinion, if you can do all your conversions from mL to tsp to T to oz to pints and so on, you'll be fine. There were also technical questions such as what gauge and length needle to use for what and why would ID be preferred over SubQ. I wasn't as prepared for those because I skimmed a bit over the intro paragraphs but I think they're a bit of common sense mixed with process of elimination. There were maybe 4 select all that apply questions but those just kind made sense, process of elimination really helped for those.

You shouldn't need them to open anything. I've already finished task 1 for biochem, part of task 2 and I took the preassessment for Nutrition. You're able to get into them you just can't submit any work yet.
