Hi all!
I, being the impatient person that I am, decided to make a thread to discuss the upcoming cycle of applications for Western University of Health Sciences, Masters of Science in Nursing Entry program.
A little about me, my undergrad is a B.S. in Public Health, but I always was interested in the nursing field. After getting my CNA license I decided that this was the field for me and want to eventually go on to become a Nurse Practitioner. I've been working on my application and I'm very nervous/excited to hear back (even though that seems forever away haha). Anyone else applying for this cycle, and if so what are your thoughts on the program??
Looking forward to hearing from you all!

I’m pretty sure people will ask the same questions as me, but I have a question about when our 1st day of instruction will be and what the format for Fall will be like. Thanks in advance. I plan to watch the meeting later in the evening
Hello everyone! I’ve been following this thread for awhile and decided to make an account ☺️ I’ll be going to Western this coming Fall with you all and was in one of the early day groups.
I was wondering if anyone knows when we will receive an email about registration? Since it is suppose to start in July ?, time is going by so fast haha, can’t wait to meet you all! ☺️
Hello everyone! I'm currently in the program. I can see that a lot of you are feeling anxious about the fall semester. From my understanding, lectures will likely be online and labs will be in smaller groups on campus. You'll be taking health assessment and nursing fundamentals in the fall so you can anticipate having those two labs. Don't worry about registration, they will email you with instructions. If they are late, it's not your fault. Make sure to check your school email though, not just your personal email. For everything else, we're all still waiting to hear from faculty. It's okay to feel anxious. There's a lot of unknown right now that is not within our control. The best advice I could give to you is to embrace the journey and lean on your classmates. That's definitely easier said than done but you will make friends for life in nursing school. When fall starts, cohort 1 will be responsible for making you guys a facebook group that also consists of cohort 1 students. When the time draws nearer, you should consider creating your own group of just cohort 2. That can be a platform for you to talk/share/vent/etc. Best of luck to you all!

Thank you for this info! Can you tell us more about your experiences in clinicals? How is placement? How have clinicals been in person, and how have they been virtually? What can we expect?
@georgee098 I personally loved in-person clinical. If you have past experience in healthcare, it's a very smooth transition. You will usually be placed at a site that is close to where you live. Usually within a one hour commute. Once the final list is created, you can swap with your classmates before the final deadline. Unfortunately, I do not know exactly how it'll be for you guys given the current pandemic. Virtual clinical is very heavy on writing. Not as fun as in-person.

Thank you so much for all the info and your insight!
I love the idea of creating our own facebook group for cohort 2 and would be more than happy to create one now if anyone else is interested?

Yeah let’s go for it! I am interested and I am sure most people are too (as it’s been a frequently asked question on here).

I am pretty sure that it will be recorded and we can watch it later, it just that we can't ask question though
