Western University MSN-E 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi all!

I, being the impatient person that I am, decided to make a thread to discuss the upcoming cycle of applications for Western University of Health Sciences, Masters of Science in Nursing Entry program.

A little about me, my undergrad is a B.S. in Public Health, but I always was interested in the nursing field. After getting my CNA license I decided that this was the field for me and want to eventually go on to become a Nurse Practitioner. I've been working on my application and I'm very nervous/excited to hear back (even though that seems forever away haha). Anyone else applying for this cycle, and if so what are your thoughts on the program??

Looking forward to hearing from you all!

Hi there!
So schedules vary per semester and will slightly differ person to person depending on the lab and clinical you are assigned to. For example, my schedule consists of lab Monday morning and I am free for the rest of the afternoon. Tuesdays we are in class from 8-5pm. Wednesdays I have one class in the morning and one class in the evening, and Thursdays and Fridays I have clinicals pretty much all day, but I have the weekends off. Again, each schedule will vary depending on the days you are assigned for lab and clinicals, but this will give you an idea on what it looks like.

I would like to mention that I have a friend in an ABSN track and our schedules are very comparable. Both programs work quick to get you accelerated into a nursing degree and both are wonderful tracks! Each will have its pros and cons, but if what you're really concerned about is if you can handle the curriculum, I am going to say that it is very doable! It is challenging but not impossible or any scarier than an ABSN track. Hope that helps and good luck on your journey to becoming a nurse!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I truly appreciate it ❤️❤️❤️

Hi everyone! I know this is the thread for last year's application cycle but I wanted to reach out to see if anyone in the current class would be able to answer my question. I was placed on the alternate list for the fall 2021 entering class- does anyone know approximately how many people are accepted off the alternate list, and how many alternate spots are given out in total?

I’m not a current student but when I was doing my extensive research...I found current students who got accepted 2-4 weeks before the cohort started.

Hello,

Can someone please share the 4 essay questions they ask in the application for the MSN-E Program? The application for 2022 cycle hasn't opened up so I can't see them but I heard they are similar each year.  since English is not my first language, I would like to get started right away because I would require more time ? Thank you in advance! Also, where can I find the PErsonal statement prompt?
