Western University MSN-E 2014

Hi Everyone!

I didn't see a thread started for this application cycle so I wanted to get one going. If there is one already started that I haven't seen feel free to redirect me. I applied for Western University's MSN-E program this fall for a start date of next fall. If anyone else is applying/has any news please share! Good luck to everyone!

I am not sure why they extend the deadline, however, they did mention at the preview day I attended that they seem to always do it. Some years they have extended it to December as well. I am not sure if they are hoping to get more applicants or if people reach out to them asking for the extension.

Hey TLeeM! Thanks! I am really good about freaking out about things like mail and deadlines, I think of the worst. I will give them a call if I don't see the update :) In a way I am little relieved that they extended the deadline bc two of my LORs were not in yet, but at the same time it gives more time for more people to apply

Really? They accept late LORs? When I called them, they said "we will not accept late materials. We will strictly denied application if any of your materials are late". So I don't know guys. Just be careful. Thanks for your feedback to my question @TLeeM

I finally got the e-mail saying my app was sent for review. So excited!

I emailed my prerequisites worksheet about two weeks ago, but it hasn't been updated on the application status ... Anyone else? Thx

Haron, I'm in the same boat! I emailed my prerequisites in two weeks ago and nothing has been updated. I'm assuming its just a huge backlog of applications they need to work through.

Hey emu3121 that is exciting!! Just curious how long did it take for your status to change from materials received to sent for review ?

@ emu3121, does it mean that you have everything they look for to be admitted into the program? and you are getting an interview any time soon? Just curious also becuz i don't know why we are getting reviewed?

@anxious...I sent my materials in about a month and a half ago. The status on your account won't actually change...or at least mine didn't. They just send an email saying that your application will be sent to the committee for review and you will be notified if there are any updates.

@meexnge...It just means that you at least meet all of the minimum requirements for prerequisites and GPA. They send it to the committee to make decisions about who to invite for an interview. It doesn't guarantee an interview. I don't think we'll be hearing about interviews for awhile, especially since they extended the application deadline.
