Western University MSN-E 2014

Hi Everyone!

I didn't see a thread started for this application cycle so I wanted to get one going. If there is one already started that I haven't seen feel free to redirect me. I applied for Western University's MSN-E program this fall for a start date of next fall. If anyone else is applying/has any news please share! Good luck to everyone!

hey @lbcgrl and @emzie25...followed you here from the MECN disaster thread...haha. Just wanted to ask you both what drew you to your respective schools (Western and USF) that you are going to. I am considering applying to both next year. I didn't have proper pre-reqs for this years admission. Good luck to you both and thanks for the replies in advance!

For me it depended on a few things: 1. what degrees would be earned and when 2. Location (I have a family, moving out of LA was not an option) 3. How GPA is looked at. I have a really high science/prerequisite GPA, but my cumm is not stellar (got my undergrad almost 20 yrs ago) - so I focused on schools that looked at recent work more predominantly and 4. I did not want to have the pressure of taking the GRE lol.

In all I applied to 4 entry level masters programs and was accepted to 2. I chose CSULA because it hit all my needs. Close to home, I get a BSN and a MSN with NP, small cohort, reasonable costs and timing. So know what you want to achieve and then pick the schools that will see you in your best light.

Being on the alternate list is driving me nuts! I want to get into this program so bad. Trying to stay positive.

For those who are waiting to hear from the alternate list, I just rescinded my spot at WesternU. I got accepted into University of San Francisco's Master's Entry Nursing program and will be attending there instead.

Hi all!

I'm wondering how did you find out if your transcripts have been received by Western? Did you look at your application status?

If I recall correctly, you can login to your account and it will show a received date when they are received and reviewed.
