Western University MSN-E Application Time!

Well, I thought this day would never come, but the application period for Western U's MSN-E program starts a week from today!

I'm beyond nervous, as I've been working on this career change for over three years now. Every time I write a little of my personal statement I get a little shaky. This is so unlike me too, I'm usually cool as a cucumber.

Anyone else here planning to apply for 2012? Are you as nervous as I am?

Hey esusan! I also have an interview this Tuesday at 12:45! :) I've been waiting to see who else would be interviewing on this date and time.

I have an intrview February 25th at 7:45 am. Does anybody know how long after an interview we will receive the decision?

I had a couple other questions for anyone that happened to know..

1.is it ok if we complete a pre-requisite course in the summer right before the Fall semester starts? I know they say pre-reqs must be completed in the Spring before the Fall semester begins, but I was wondering if anyone knew if they would accept a course done in the summer? Or do you know who I can contact about this?

2. After the first 16 months in the program, I understad students receive their RN and then begin studying online for the master's portion. During this time, they also work as an RN in the community. Does this mean that we are able to pick any location and hospital/clinic on our own where we will work? Or are we placed somewhere?

1. Everything has to be completed by the end of Spring. I don't have my paperwork handy, but I'm pretty sure the cut off is June 1st.

2. You're correct, you can live/work anywhere in the US. You just have to be on campus twice per semester for intensive weekends and have a clinical preceptor approved by Western.

In the interview they told us that all prerequisites must be completed by end of Spring semester because the program starts in August.

Do any girls in this thread have dyed hair and had to dye it back to their original hair color because they didn't want to take chances during an interview?

Sonjaxlove, I think it would depend on how "intense" it is. Also, how much does this mean to you? I have a teensy-tiny nose stud and because I had to contemplate whether to leave it in or take it out...I knew I should probably just not wear it. It's always best to go with what you feel is right, especially if you're debating it. Hope this helped :)
