Western University MSN-E Application Time!

Published

Well, I thought this day would never come, but the application period for Western U's MSN-E program starts a week from today!

I'm beyond nervous, as I've been working on this career change for over three years now. Every time I write a little of my personal statement I get a little shaky. This is so unlike me too, I'm usually cool as a cucumber.

Anyone else here planning to apply for 2012? Are you as nervous as I am?

Congrats Maseca! I received an email from Daniell today but I think it was an error. It was a second invitation for the Feb. 25 interview not an admission email. Best of luck to all of you!

Congrats!!!

I finally received my email invitation. I was nervous about not being selected for the next stage. Any clue to the format of interview day? Is it group or individual? One on one interview or multiple people interviewing you as a panel?

For the interview day, you get divided into three groups. One group gets a campus tour, another group does a short essay, and the third group does their interview. The interview is with two faculty members. There are snacks, coffee and water, and everyone makes you feel very at home.

Very cool. Thank you Maseca! Any way to prepare for the essay you think or its all tied to what you discussed in your application?

Don't sweat the essay. It should be pretty easy for anyone who had to write papers for their undergrad degree. There's no way to really prepare for it, because your topic is assigned at random.

Hey Maseca

I am not sure if you're still in school but for the forms the school gave you was there anything about a certain gpa you needed to maintain if you were still in school?

hk08, I'm not sure I really understand your question.

My admission packet indicated that I needed to complete my prerequisites (I have one class in progress), and that the class must be graded with a C or higher. I'm obviously still aiming for an A in the class though. That was the only mention of grades in the admission information I received. The form was just for confirmation that I was accepting their offer of admission.

Was that what you were asking?

Yea that summed up my question! Thanks for the info and congrats again! :D

I just received an email invitation to interview on February 25, 2012 at 7:45 a.m.!! Anyone else out there?

I am interviewing this Tuesday at 12:45 p.m. I am curious for those of you have interviewed already, do you handwrite the essay or do they have computers for you to use? Thanks!

They give you laptops to write on. Thank goodness, because my handwriting is horrible!

That's a relief, my handwriting is bad and keeps getting worse. Plus I love to be able to edit without scratching things out!
