That's awesome susan. I submitted mine early Feb. and I'm still waiting for my worksheet. Like you, I finished all my prereqs too. I sent several emails to one of the advisors and here is a copy of some of the thing she said. I hope it answers some of your questions. "My name is *******, one of the academic advisors for the ABSN Extended Learning Program. That is great that you have many items in line to complete the ABSN application. We admit 44 students in the Fall for the Temecula campus. In answering your question about what you can do to increase your chances of getting selected, I will refer to our point system. As you know applicants will be ranked on a points system. Points are given for the quality of the 1.) Nursing Core GPA; 2.) Last 60 credits GPA; and 3.) the TEAS score. It is the TEAS score where we encourage students to utilize for bringing up their ranking points. It is the easiest and quickest way to pick up additional points. For information regarding the TEAS exam, you can contact ATI Testing to create an account and for additional testing dates and locations: 800-667-7531 or www.atitesting.com. Make sure you take the TEAS Exam Version 5.0 if you plan to take it. We ask student to give us at least a couple of months until an applicant receives their evaluation. Our admissions process is a rolling admissions process meaning it is constant until we fill the cohorts. Once we fill one cohort, we start filling in for the next cohort. There is no month designated for admissions notifications; it can happen dynamically. You may want to contact me in another month (in April) what is the status of your ABSN application. I reread some of the posts from the very beginning and I know why many of you were accepted. Though I still haven't heard anything, I am happy for you guys! I agree with melman23.. you guys totally deserve your spot. For those of us who weren't so lucky.. I'm sure we'll be great nurses too.. maybe we're just meant to take a different route. Either way I'm going to be a nurse practitioner sooner or later.

MissLA & Sisyer2-Thanks for the encouraging words. I'm just going to leave it up to God. My cousin applied for the pharmacy program and got in 4 days before the program started.. Better late than never =)

I emailed Daniell Mendoza last Thursday and still haven't heard back from her.. I feel like I haven't had a good night sleep since last month.. Hopefully our patience will pay off soon..

Hi. I'm also applying for the Fall cohort. I'm sure if you have most of your prereqs done, they will definitely take you into consideration. I'm also super stressed. I sent out my application documents about a month ago and haven't heard anything back yet. I just called the absn department and they said there's still space available for Fall and that it's not unusual to not hear back until 8-10 weeks after you submit your documents. Hopefully we'll hear from them soon!

Hi guys, I went to an FNP interview but I think they said the CM & FNP interviews are conducted the same way. It's a group interview with about 18 interviewees and two faculty members. Everyone is really nice so don't be nervous =). FYI: the parking garage on I believe Summit is really expensive. I paid $18 for 4 hours.

Patients are going to be lucky to have you as their NP or CM. jly0162: Yes.. It made me nervous. Luckily, I was invited to the ELMSN-FNP program interview on February 4th the next day =). I thought it was strange that it's on a Saturday but I have no complaints. By the way.. does anyone know if we can send in an updated transcript to SMU?

Oops sorry guys. The interview dates in February are actually on the 21st, 23rd, and 24th (subject to change). "Notification letters of all categories (accept, alternate, and non-accept) will be sent in February/March." -Pg. 2 of Interview Packet. Also, the writing portion is to "determine how efficient your writing skills are." -Pg. 2 of Interview Packet. I hope that helps. =)

Hi guys. I'm sure everyone received this but I thought I would post it here anyways. HELLO: I have received many emails and calls from fall 2012 ELMSN applicants regarding status. I am sending this email in hopes that it will ease your mind. This email means we have your application. I may have, or I am in the process of reviewing it. If anything was unclear or missing-I will or I have emailed you. I did send an initial status email earlier, which can change. Here is the latest: 1) Applications are still being reviewed. 2) Interviews are happening in the month of February 3) If you are selected for an interview, you will be contacted by the School of Nursing directly 4) Decisions should go out in late February or early March (by email) I am sorry, but I cannot give you an individual status of where your file is at this point. Hi guys! In the information packet, it says the second round of interviews will be in mid-February between Feb. 14-20. I don't remember the exact dates but you get three days to choose from. It also said there were around 400 applications and half of the applicants will be invited for an interview. Overall, the interviewers and the directors of the Interview Day were really nice. There were about 17 of us in the morning group on Jan. 19 and we were broken up into 3 groups. One group was sent off to do a writing assignment, another for the campus tour, and the last group stayed in the main room waiting to be individually escorted to the interview room. We were done by 12pm. I wish you guys the best of luck!

Hi. Congratulations to those of you who have been accepted to a program. I've applied to several entry level NP programs in California. (WesternU, Samuel Merritt, , etc). I was wondering if you guys had any advice for interviews and also the appropriate professional attire to wear?
