Well, I thought this day would never come, but the application period for Western U's MSN-E program starts a week from today!
I'm beyond nervous, as I've been working on this career change for over three years now. Every time I write a little of my personal statement I get a little shaky. This is so unlike me too, I'm usually cool as a cucumber.
Anyone else here planning to apply for 2012? Are you as nervous as I am?
oh thats cool! do you mind telling me your stats and what the school looked at when choosing you to be one of the 60?
They def look at the overall applicant...not merely your numbers. I think the fact that I'm a 1st generation college student really helped a lot, especially during the interview, in addition to my volunteer work with underserved pops. I had no paid HCE though.
Does anyone know how the interview process is like or the format (i.e. panel of committee)? Maybe current MSN-E students can provide us more insight in what to expect or how to tackle the interview if offered. I'm just curious. Thanks!
If you can find last year's admission thread, there were a number of people who posted about their interview experience. I've found the older threads to be very informative reading.
hello everyone,
the interview process at western consists of an introduction period where about 20 interviewees introduce themselves and then staff goes into detail about the program. once that is over, one interviewee goes into a room that consists of two professors of the nursing school. my experience was very enjoyable. they were very nice and asked about 5-7 questions. after the interviews, everyone goes on a tour of the simulation lab.

I went to another FNP program actually...I didn't like the fact that the program is 4 years long and the majority of it is online in addition to having to find your own preceptors. I only applied to get interview experience.
