Western University MSN-E Application Time!

Published

Well, I thought this day would never come, but the application period for Western U's MSN-E program starts a week from today!

I'm beyond nervous, as I've been working on this career change for over three years now. Every time I write a little of my personal statement I get a little shaky. This is so unlike me too, I'm usually cool as a cucumber.

Anyone else here planning to apply for 2012? Are you as nervous as I am?

It was more anxiety than anything. I did prepare it. If you want so of the documents I used to prepare, let me know.

I definitely would like to see them if possible :) Thanks again Bunz57 for all of you help and shared info!

same here bunz57 any info would be appreciated. Thanks so much

send me a private message with your emails and ill send out the documents by the end of the week. let me know if you guys have any other questions. I know exactly what you guys are going through!

thanks bunz57 just sent you a pm :)

hey guys!

i just found out from a counselor that they wont look at prerequisites at all :[ only overall and last 60 units. Do you guys know how to calculate last 60 if I have a mixture of semester units and quarter units?

That's what I'd been told by the counselors.

I've used this website to calculate my last 60 units: http://www.foothill.edu/counseling/gpacalc.php

To convert quarter units to semester units, multiply the units by .667.

When I went to Preview Day, it was clarified that pre-req courses taken after your bac degree would be used in the "Last 60" unit GPA. Maybe I misunderstood...?

It's whatever classes were the last 60 units you took.

For me, that includes some prerequisites, but not all of them, and includes much of my bachelor's degree work.

Like some of the others on here, I was also under the impression that they DO look at prerequisite GPA. I went to an open house and Preview Day. I think they do look at science GPA because it's usually an indicator of how you'll do in the program?

Hi everyone. Just a quick question. Do I need to contact EDS about my prerequisite class that I just recently completed? I remember submitting the prerequisite form with the application (last October) and indicated that the class is still "in progress" and will be completed by end of Fall Qtr 2011. Please let me know what course of action to take. Thanks!

I asked Elaine the same question. She said that you didn't need to submit another prerequisite worksheet, but to make sure that the grades were updated on NursingCAS. I did go ahead and send in an updated prerequisite worksheet anyway though.

thanks Maseca for the website. I am still a bit confused hearing about the last 60 and the overall etc. I spoke to Jacob about it this morning and thats what he told me not sure if I should call someone else to verify
