Western Oklahome Intersession classes

Who has done these? I'm planning on doing the anthropology one on Christmas break to meet the cross cultural requirement. Any info on it? How hard is it to do?

I just read something that said they have stopped the 10 day intercession courses and will no longer be offering them. Anyone else read that? Thanks!

I went online and it looks like they will be offering a 10 day intercession in July which I plan to take music. They will also be offering cultural anthropology if anyone needs it, I took it there already also they have a host of other courses. 10 day is the way to go to knock out courses you need. Intense but well worth it. I earned 6 credits in 20 days. Better than 15 weeks :)

Where did you see that they will be offering them in July? I called this week and they were unsure? Thx for the info

I went to spring 2013 courses,hit web based courses,takes you to a page and hit 'summer' then online courses only and a list came up. I also emailed them about if they are offering summer intercessions

How demanding was the 10 day Cult. Anth. class? I have to do Cul. Anth. and Sociology this summer. WOSC for Soc., offer a 4 week course end of spring and I know edukan is offering a 6 week course this summer for C.A., just not sure if I want to do the 10 day cram. Ya know?

I took Cult Anth over the 10 days. Yes, intense but well worth it for me. I did not want to drag out an elective and it was more time consuming than brain draining, IMO. The course format has changed a bit since I took it.

They may stop the 10 day intersession..BUT why not take one of the 4 week sessions ..you can go at your own pace..all except the bulletin boards which would be easy enough to do once a week or so...I just finished Nutrition...

well worth it either way. Glad I went with WOSU and did well in both classes and tuition was less than $400

FYI. Wrote Western Oklahoma about summer 10 day intercessions and here is their reply: We will not have our summer schedule posted untilApril. We do still plan on offering intersession courses, they just will not be 10 days long. I am not sure on the length at this time. Please check back in April when the schedule is posted.

How was their nutrition class? Doable on top of a class at OU?

I took the nutrition class in their 10 day intercessions and it was fine. Glad I got it done in 10 days. They offer 4 week sessions right now,so it will be interesting to see how long the intercessions are in the summer but either way will be taking music there this summer. Yes doable with an OU class. If you take it at Wosu I have the book if you need it and will be happy to give it to you.
