Hi all. I’m considering attending west coast university. I have my prerequisites completed except for the courses they require to be completed at their school. I have a previous BS degree. My GPA for prerequisites is between 2.5-3.0 GPA.
Are my chances of being admitted slim?
what is the admissions process like? I’ll be attending an info session that is mandatory supposedly but I wouldn’t want to waste my time going if not needed.
what’s the cost if I finished my prerequisites?
How is the program in general? I won’t be working while attending.
ill be moving from NorCal and unfamiliar with SoCal, which is a better place to live in? Orange County, Ontario, Los Angeles??

They’ll take anyone with a 2.0 who’s willing to pay....there’s a campus in LA and Orange County and are both are atrociously expensive.
does anyone know if West Coast accepts nursing students from other nursing schools? I’m a semester in at my current school and I want out.

Hi,
I am considering applying to west coast university. I have a BS with a 2.8 cumulative GPA. Sadly i don't think i have any luck getting into the A-BSN programs ( CSUN, CAL STATE LA or Mount st Mary ).

They will admit you no problem. . You do have to take the HESI entrance exam which is pretty easy just English and math and they give you a free study guide . With your pre reqs finished its about 80-90k . After you pass your HESI ( you find out right after ) , they will sit you down with an admissions advisor , you’ll bring in your official transcripts and high school diploma . You fill out an online admission application and that’s it .
not sure how the program is as I don’t start Until janauary

I would suggest the Ontario campus. San Bernardino county is vastly cheaper than LA or OC.

Out of curiosity, how much cheaper is Ontario than North Hollywood? I am starting at the North Hollywood campus in April, but would consider Ontario to save $$. I'm located pretty much in the middle of the two locations so either would work for me.

Can any current students tell me if West Coast University charges tutition by semester or by units? Also, if anyone could tell me the cost they had to pay after transferring prerequisties? I don't get grants because I already have a bachelors degree and the cost is making me hesitant to go to this school.

Same here, I just applied and I had a session with the financial aid advisor last week and basically I can only take out loans. I'm going to send my transcripts in tomorrow so hopefully the tuition goes down a bit

Hello, I am in my second to last term at WCU. They charge based off academic year since the program is standard for everyone meaning they give you a schedule with the classes you will take and when you'll take them throughout the program. You only have the option of choosing what day/professor you want to take. If you are getting grants, FA, scholarships or anything else then they take that into considering at "substract" it from your tution. Whatever amount remains is what you will have to pay them via cash or private loan. They offer monthly payment options interest free. I receive financial aid so my degree is costing me about $60K ? it's pretty pricy but worth it if you're just looking to get your BSN quickly. I waited 2 years to get accepted into ADN programs but kept getting waitlisted. For reference by GPA was 3.5 when applying with 3.8 in science courses.
