West Coast University

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi all. I’m considering attending west coast university. I have my prerequisites completed except for the courses they require to be completed at their school. I have a previous BS degree. My GPA for prerequisites is between 2.5-3.0 GPA.

Are my chances of being admitted slim?

what is the admissions process like? I’ll be attending an info session that is mandatory supposedly but I wouldn’t want to waste my time going if not needed.

what’s the cost if I finished my prerequisites?

How is the program in general? I won’t be working while attending.

ill be moving from NorCal and unfamiliar with SoCal, which is a better place to live in? Orange County, Ontario, Los Angeles??

Out of curiosity, how much cheaper is Ontario than North Hollywood? I am starting at the North Hollywood campus in April, but would consider Ontario to save $$. I'm located pretty much in the middle of the two locations so either would work for me.

Good Morning ,

I was looking for someone in the post that was going to attend N Hollywood . For the credits what Chemistry did you take ? Not sure what chem they accept as credit ? And I don't want to call because then they are going to want me to go thru the whole process .

They accepted my 'introduction to Chemistry' back in 2018. I don't think much has changed.

You can use the link below to determine what the class you took is equivalent to.

They will admit you no problem. . You do have to take the HESI entrance exam which is pretty easy just English and math and they give you a free study guide . With your pre reqs finished its about 80-90k . After you pass your HESI ( you find out right after ) , they will sit you down with an admissions advisor , you’ll bring in your official transcripts and high school diploma . You fill out an online admission application and that’s it .

not sure how the program is as I don’t start Until janauary

Hi I just got accepted and was wondering if you could tell.me what the proposed schedule looks like after your financial aid appt was done ? Anything would be helpful. I'm trying to convince my employee to let me keep my job while going

for those of you who got pre requ already approved . Do you need college math algebra and statistics or just one out of the two math classes?

I completed statistics do I have to take college math algebra as well?

If I already have a bachelor’s in another subject, are there less classes I would need to take?

You need both college math and statistics.

No. The only way you’d have less classes to take is it you finished all your nursing prereqs prior applying to the program and or if you are a LVN already. It’s a nursing bachelors degree, so your degree in another field will have no assistance to the nursing degree unfortunately. You’re basically changing majors.

You do have to take algebra and statistics.

hello guys! can you guys refresh my memory what is the name of that company that lets you take self paced classes something starlight ? starline ?

Specializes in student.

Hello all I am looking into attending WCU in novemebr here at the Ontario Campus I have all the GEs for terms 1-7 done except one (Phil 341) and of course the three we need to take at WCU like the first year seminar. I was wondering if they all have to be taken in the respective term or can I condense and take them in 1-2 Terms ?
