I have applied and just sent in my transcripts to West Coast North Hollywood. I have a telephonic financial aid appointment coming up next week and am just curious if anyone knows exactly what is going to be talked about in the financial aid meeting? And when do they usually let you know if you're accepted or not?
I hope school will still somehow be in session regardless of the virus or not. I am extremely excited to start school.
If anyone is a graduate of West Coast University, or if anyone knows someone who graduated - how long did it take after graduation to find a job, and where was the job? (Hospital, clinic, salon...)

Yes I start at NOHO in Nov! I will def keep you posted on how my transcripts go. Please let me know if you hear back too! My school is not doing electronic transfers for transcripts so everything is done by 1st class mail which is why I’m assuming it’s taking longer for me to hear back.... But I’ll keep you posted.
Okay great! Well hello there classmate!!! ??? Have you tried taking a picture of your unofficial and send them over just to have something on your record for now? I will pray your transcripts get sent over on time! I assume you have finished with your pre- reqs at a CC?

Hiiiiii! I haven’t! I’m thinking of doing that! Thank you I hope so too. Yes I did at my local CC! ☺️ Hope we’ll be able to interact more when the semester begins!
For those of you who are starting in November and are relocating/living away from home. What are your current plans for living situations with covid still in place? I will be moving down from NorCal but I currently have not pulled out any additional loans to cover apartment/living expenses because of the uncertainty of campus opening up in November for in person classes... Debating if I should start applying for additional financial aid now, or if I should wait it out for another month? Would love to hear what others are doing who are in a similar situation with living!

I went ahead and emailed my advisor copies of my unofficial transcripts requesting to have my prereqs evaluated while waiting for the officials to be received! Im beginning to worry a bit, but hoping the transcripts will make it in before Nov! Thank you for your positive thoughts! ❤️❤️
Hi, I’m also coming down from the Bay Area. All pre- reqs have been completed but since we still have to complete the pre- reqs required by the school (FYS, cultural plural, etc), It’ll be online until the second or third term (each term is 10 weeks). I would def apply for financial aid ASAP, it take a quick 2 minutes and ensures you a piece of mind. I need a roommate as well if anybody is down, direct message me ?

Hey Negin!
So I got an email back from my advisor. Unfortunately, they will not allow students to send in unofficial transcripts for the purpose of having the prerequisites evaluated earlier... Students have to wait till WCU receives the official transcripts. ?

I hope so! ??? Nobody is on campus since they are working from remote which... explains why there’s such a delay. I’m just frustrated that my school doesn’t offer electronic transcripts during these times! Doesn’t make sense... But just gotta stay positive and be patient!

It looks like all my sciences taken at community college within the last 5 years were accepted. Also intermediate algebra at CC along with statistics taken a Los ANgeles Pacific University.
I would need to retake Chemistry and physiology because I completed them over 5 years ago. Also need to complete English 2 because I have not yet taken it.
I'm not enrolled yet, but looking to start in the Jan session. If so, I will take Chem, phys and english 2 through straighterline. WCU accepts up to 12 transfer from Straighterline. It's online college credit courses, at a fraction of the price compared to WCU, and it's self pace. I've done some research and found that if you are disciplined you can complete a course in about a month.
Also update on financial aide-
I was able to qualify for $16,000 per academic year through their own centennial scholarship. I'm super happy about that. So in the end I will get $16,000 scholarship money, $9500 federal loan and about $10,500 will come out of my pocket (annually) upfront to secure my seat. I figured that to be about $40,000 of my own between out of pocket and loans. Luckily I can also get some of that reimbursed through my employer.
For me, it's worth not waiting for CC program acceptance and earning a BS in an accelerated program.
Any questions..please let me know. Happy to help.
that sounds great ! thinking about doing the same . how does starlight work? they accept 12 credits max ? what campus are you applying to ?
