I have applied and just sent in my transcripts to West Coast North Hollywood. I have a telephonic financial aid appointment coming up next week and am just curious if anyone knows exactly what is going to be talked about in the financial aid meeting? And when do they usually let you know if you're accepted or not?
I hope school will still somehow be in session regardless of the virus or not. I am extremely excited to start school.
If anyone is a graduate of West Coast University, or if anyone knows someone who graduated - how long did it take after graduation to find a job, and where was the job? (Hospital, clinic, salon...)

you don't actually get approved for our pre-reqs until you pay, until your loan is secured. but you pay term by term, so its not like you have to pay a hundred thousand dollars first. no, first you pay like 18k or whatever it is for the term then you'll know your classes, which ones have been approved/not. BUT there is a sheet they send you that lets you match up and see for yourself which courses are approved for transfer. you need to consult w them for orientation for them to send it to you.

no actually I am waiting for January because of covid. do you have any insight for me? haha. like did you go with sallie mae for your loans?
I am actually in the process of trying to qualify for their centennial scholarship. I had my financial aid appt a few weeks ago and I only qualify for $9400.00 in federal loans. No federal grants or scholarships (primarily due to my husband's income). So I tried to qualify for loans from Sallie Mae and College Ave for the remaining $29,000, but was denied. I only work part time right now.
Based on GPA and HESI or TEAS score and need.... prospective students can apply for the centennial scholarship, which my advisor had me do. I'm really hopeful that I will qualify for a good amount. If so, then I will likely start Nov 2nd.
My admission advisor told me to check the TES on their website. It's basically a search page where you can look up colleges and courses to see which ones will transfer over to WCU. So far, I think all my pre reqs will transfer over (except Chemistry and physio because they are older than 5 years).

Do you know why you were denied for the remaining balance on loans ? That's scary. I am also trying to get into the Nov 2 class and my fiancial aid appt is Tuesday. I'm scared I won't be able to get in because of federal loan denial as well
Quote Wait why did they deny you sallie Mae??? I thought they didn’t look at credit or anything. Now I’m scared.

Hi everyone! I’m starting the BSN program this November at the LA campus!
Does everyone think that the campus will open up for in person classes for the remainder of the year? I asked my advisor and he stated it’s too early to say...
The 5 year requirement is for science classes- anatomy, phys, micro and chem.
I was denied sallie mae because I had to request for the full loan amount...29,000. I work part time and hardly make more than that per year.
Darthcozmo- CONGRATS! I am thinking I should know by the the end of this week whether or not I will make into the Nov 2 class. When did you finish working everything out with financial aid?

Hi, I got in the Nov 2 start date, if you guys have any Q’s reply to me ?
OMG I have a question! are your classes going to be online only? how much did you apply for the loan for the first term and did you have a co-signer?
