West Coast 2020-2021

Published

I have applied and just sent in my transcripts to West Coast North Hollywood. I have a telephonic financial aid appointment coming up next week and am just curious if anyone knows exactly what is going to be talked about in the financial aid meeting? And when do they usually let you know if you're accepted or not?

I hope school will still somehow be in session regardless of the virus or not. I am extremely excited to start school.

If anyone is a graduate of West Coast University, or if anyone knows someone who graduated - how long did it take after graduation to find a job, and where was the job? (Hospital, clinic, salon...)

Hi! Yes I have a co- signer. I did not get approved without it. And yes since I have to take FYS, patho, critical reasoning and capstone; they’re all online. I believe that’s the first 5 months of the program (don’t quote me). They’re not eval transcripts until 30 days prior to the start date so I am still waiting on that...

however, I took all my GE’s at a community college (I’m from the Bay Area) and graduated with my AS in health sciences. I’ve also been an LVN for 5 years so none of this is new.

my advice to you is maybe you’re not being accepted for such a large amount of loan because of all the extra price tags you need for your GEs? Have you completed them already or planning on taking them at WCU?

Hi everyone!
I’m starting the BSN program this November at the LA campus!

Does everyone think that the campus will open up for in person classes for the remainder of the year? I asked my advisor and he stated it’s too early to say...

Hello fellow classmate! Would you be needing a roommate? I’ll be moving from the Bay Area ?

you don't actually get approved for our pre-reqs until you pay, until your loan is secured. but you pay term by term, so its not like you have to pay a hundred thousand dollars first. no, first you pay like 18k or whatever it is for the term then you'll know your classes, which ones have been approved/not. BUT there is a sheet they send you that lets you match up and see for yourself which courses are approved for transfer. you need to consult w them for orientation for them to send it to you.

no actually I am waiting for January because of covid. do you have any insight for me? haha. like did you go with sallie mae for your loans?

Elementary Chemistry or CHEM30A should be fine. That’s intro to Chemistry

Make sure it has a lab

@CP78 Thank you!! ☺️ I actually was supposed to start in August but I didn’t get approved of extra private loans so had to push it to November. I had to find a co-signer to secure the loans which I was able to finalize everything with my FA Officer just last week!

I’m currently waiting for my transcripts to get accepted and evaluated now!

I hope for the best news for everyone here!!

Yes, I had the same issue regarding the loans. I had to bring in a co- signer to get approved.

Hi!
I’m actually moving down to SoCal with my friend later in the year. Just waiting to see if COVID is going to keep the campus closed or not, so my decision to move anytime soon is up in the air.

I asked my academic advisor and he stated they will know 30days prior to start date of the campus will open up or not...

Hi, I got in the Nov 2 start date, if you guys have any Q’s reply to me ?

What does your proposed schedule look like ? And do you know what will be online vs on campus x amount of days a week?

Well, we would have to wait and see. Flu season is just around the corner... maybe the numbers will spike again. One can only hope for the best! Good luck and see you there!

Goodluck to everyone

Schedules are given 30 days prior to start date. So I’m looking in October? All GE’s will be online with some core classes online as well, but not the majority

For WCU you only need stats, but majority of programs (99%) want you to have both intermediate college algebra & stats.
