West Coast 2020-2021

Published

I have applied and just sent in my transcripts to West Coast North Hollywood. I have a telephonic financial aid appointment coming up next week and am just curious if anyone knows exactly what is going to be talked about in the financial aid meeting? And when do they usually let you know if you're accepted or not?

I hope school will still somehow be in session regardless of the virus or not. I am extremely excited to start school.

If anyone is a graduate of West Coast University, or if anyone knows someone who graduated - how long did it take after graduation to find a job, and where was the job? (Hospital, clinic, salon...)

So, the next date is in April  ? I am wondering if I apply now , would they start off on April ?

Perfect ! Thank you I’ve been waiting for that start date Aye! Now I can apply .

Besides all the prerequisites, it looks like there’s some classes that need to be taken that are only offered at their school before you actually start taking nursing core classes? Is that right? Does anyone know how that works? Thanks

Yes. WCU makes it mandatory to take First Year Seminar, Critical Thinking, Pathophysiology and GE Capstone at WCU. You can take the prereqs anywhere else or WCU. (Cheaper to take the prereqs somewhere else)

Thanks for the info. How long does it take to complete those classes with west coast approximately?

hello guy! I just got off the phone with an advisor and I mention I still need two more classes to take (prerequisites)at a community college , the classes ends 8 days before the June start date before west coast begins  . I know I've seen people say different things about what they are told on transferring credit but have you guys heard something similar to this and quote " the official transcripts must be turned in before the 10 week period ends for the 1st semester at west coast " she also mention that you can take classes at a community college while attending west coast given that it is the first semester and not core nursing classes.

if anyone has been told otherwise , do you guys mind sharing any info

thank you! fyi this was at the Hollywood campus

Hi there. I am starting at WCU Jan 2021. I have been told by my advisor that any classes taken must have officially transcripts submitted by the end of the first term (which is 10 weeks). So, yes you can be concurrently enrolled elsewhere and completing classes towards your pre-reqs. Just make sure the class will end and offer an official transcipt prior to week 10.

I'm currrently taking a few pre-reqs online through straighterline. Self paced. WCU accepts up to 12 transfer credits from straighterline.

Hi, I got in the Nov 2 start date, if you guys have any Q’s reply to me ?

congrats !! yay! I do have a question. For the transferable credit , if you took a Winter semester class .DId you have any problem getting credit for that class ? Given that Winter semester is shorter and therefore not all material is covered .I am wondering if it is worth it taking math 108 at a community college over Winter semester .
