See? The "customer "just thinks that the NURSES are being lazy and not paying attention to their family member. It does not address lack of staffing, other situations, etc. Now nurse feels they have to drop EVERYTHING and get to this call light, or fear losing their job/license.All his.her other patients can go to H*lle
Define "proper attention"esp. in the eyes of the family member. In this society ,it means they expect 1:1 treatment, and all other pts assigned to this nurse can suck it.
At least that's what ai get out of this.
What a pathetic society we have become.
Don't get me wrong, I do everything I can to provide the best care I can to all my pts. This app does nothing but Bully the nurse into providing extra special care to that pt.
I guess I would have to refuse to take care of a pt if I found out they had this app. I guess that means I would prob. lose my job. But at least I lose it over refusal of assignment, as opposed to 1:1 the "special priveliged pt with the app", and possibly failing to provide appropriate care too my other pts.
I ve heard of squeaky wheels, but this takes the cake.....

I wonder if Beanie wants everyone to use this app? What if the family of all 6 patients on an assignment use it? What if Beanie is the sixth out of six to use his app to "ring" a nurse? Well, I guess we didn't solve anything, did we?
Now, I'm no nurse (not even in a nursing program yet), but wouldn't that be completely counterproductive? Taking multiple hospital employees away from their duties so they can track down the pt's nurse through a series of phone calls and have her/him check on the pt? That's going to take quite some time AND annoy several hospital employees along the way. Is it really worth it?
Also, isn't that what call lights are for? Wouldn't it be much more convenient and efficient to just push the nurse call button? This app seems very pointless, unless your goal is to have the entire hospital annoyed with you (obviously "entire hospital" was an exaggeration...).
Frankly, I think this app won't ever see much use. The person buying the app has to enter in the hospital and the telephone numbers manually. The patient would have to update the numbers for each hospital stay. Most likely the patient will just enter the main switchboard number. Even if somehow the nurse received a call from this company, he/she would be unable to share any patient info because there is no release of info on the hospital end. Plus, I find it unlikely that this app developer actually has live employees working 24/7 chasing down nurses all over the US. It seems like a scam.
I'm in a silly mood. New app "Zap My Nurse". "Want grandma to get a prompt and courteous response anytime the nurse button is used? Tired of waiting for that cup of hot cocoa just because another patient is dying? The answer is as easy as "Zap My Nurse". Zap My Nurse is a discreet and decorative Bluetooth "bangle" that can be quickly fitted to the wrist of nursing staff.
When the nurse call bell is activated, "Zap My Nurse" delivers a gentle shock via the nurse bangle.
If your nurse does not respond within 30 seconds, "Zap My Nurse" automatically increases the level of nurse stimulation by 50 joules for every additional 15 seconds of delay up to a whopping 360 joules! Nothing gets a nurse off her keister faster than "Zap My Nurse."
