It can be done. I took an 8 week class and studied about 40 hours a week. I really regret it, because it is only enough time to learn to pass exams and not something that will stick to long term memory. I wish I had taken a regular semester so that most of the material wouldn't have been forgotten.
I agree with Twishes. I took both my A&P's in an 8 week session. I didn't retain any of it. I went back after the class had ended and tried to teach myself a lot of what I should've learned. Thankfully there are a lot of online sources to help you. The 8 week session was way too fast for me to remember much. I imagine the 4 week will not cover all that a regular semester of A&P would. It can be done and passed, for sure, but if you will you really learn anything is entirely up to you.
I also think 4 weeks is too short. Of course, it may be possible if you go to school minimum 7+ hours a day x5 (probably weekend too), and then go home and study all night. I don't think it is beneficial to rush through Anatomy. My friend did a 6 week course and went to school for 42 days straight, without 1 day off. The professor held open lab, so she went on the weekends too. Last summer, I took a 6 week A&P, however this was not my required pre-req, and I therefore took the class to prepare me a bit for my required Anatomy class that I taking now over a regular semester. I did nothing but study, however I had 6 weeks, instead of 4. Also, I feel like the class scratched the surface, because it was a summer course, BUT it did prepare me Anatomy. IMO, if this is your pre-req for nursing, don't do it.
only you know what you can do! I am taking A&P during a regular semester and my class was only offered 1 time per week and I am struggling trying to keep up with it and the other 3 classes I am taking. You know your limits...I personally would take it when there is more time during a full length semester (more than one time per week)

I want to take A&P 1 over the summer but it is only 4 weeks long! Do you think I could do well in this class with just 4 weeks to learn everything?
