Hey guys :-) I was looking through threads and didn't see any about the LVN program this Spring at WC. I have applied to 3 schools this summer; 2 were for ADN programs and the other was WC lvn. I lacked points for the ADN programs but got a letter from WC saying Ive been chosen as a alternate in the LVN program :-)
While getting my BSN was my first choice, it is definitely a step in the right direction to get my nursing license and then continue in a bridge program. Orientation for WC is Dec 3rd. Anyone else been accepted/alternate?!?
MoRNdreams - I was pleasantly surprised that the compass was a lot easier than the TEAS. The nursing department will give you a study guide (even thru email) if you ask for it. You can use a calculator which helps a lot. The math is pre algebra, so it's nothing more advanced than middle school math. In addition to just being two sections, there seemed to be less questions too. I'm sure you will do just fine!
I'm excited for orientation!! There is so much info and so much to do. I spoke with KL and she said some years there have been alternates who get offered a spot at orientation. She also said the big day is Jan 7 because if those accepted don't have everything turned in then a lot of spots open up--not sure if I can drop everything that close to class starting so I hope to hear something soon!! :)
amberranay-thanks for the info! Any idea what LVN's make where you work? A friend of mine is an LVN and made $22-26 depending on her job; the highest was from an agency job and I think she worked at a corrections facility for awhile.
Im a pct at a hospital and I make $15 so Im hopeing as an LVN the pay will be much more...
