Weatherford College Spring 2011 applicants

Published

Hi! Who is applying to Weatherford for the spring 2011 semester?

I took the TEAS yesterday and didn't do as well as I was hoping. I am going to retake it and hopefully then I will have 18 or 19 points. It seems that the point system has changed and is only 23 possible points now, rather than 26.

I really don't know if 18 or 19 will be enough, but I haven't completed Micro so that is going to hurt me. I figure it is worth a try though! You can't win if you don't play! lol.

So who else is applying? How many points does everyone have?

I am applying to the spring semester as well for WC. The thing that worries me is I heard that they only take 20 for the spring semester. Is that true??? I think they took 40 for the fall. I feel like we should up our points since they only take half the seats.

Any opinions??? info????

Yes, they only take 20. One thing to keep in mind though, in the current pool they accepted Teas Version 3.0/4.0 along with the Version 5. For spring they will only accept the Version 5. That will pull the average scores down some.

How do I know what version i took?????

I don't have mine in front of me, but I would guess it says on it. Or log onto the testing site. If you took it since Dec or Jan (not sure when the cut off date was for the older versions) or later it would be the Version 5. ATI stopped providing the earlier version some where in there.

I just looked at it and I took 5! What a relief, I dindn't want to have to take it again.

How many points will you have manow? I think last spring app period 18points got in and some 17's were alternates. If you retake chem and get a better grade, it will def help you.

Hello all,

New to this site but stumbled across it. I was accepted into the Weatherford College ADN program for the Fall 2011 semester. I had no idea about points and stuff! Congrats to everyone who has gotten in!

StudentCL: that's the thing with WC. According to their point system I should have 21. On the prereqs it says ap I&II, Micro and either chem or algebra. I have an A in alg and B in chem. so if they count algebra for the points instead of chem I will get the max points for prereq GPA.

TCC is less forgiving though. My A in algebra counts for nothing. That's why I'm so worried about my 3.25 in the sciences. :(

I'm probably gonna have to find a new job b/c my job now does not want me to work part time. And summer school is gonna kill me. working 8-6 then school 6-10.

Is the algeba that you have 0350? If so, they will count the chem for the points.

0350? Not sure, it is college level alg 1315 i took at tcc.

Hmmm....I can't remember which they will count. I emailed KL a while back and asked her. I am thinking they take whichever is higher. You may want to give her a call to find out. I just can't remember.

And if you have 21 points, that is excellent. You should feel confident that you will get in at WC. If the Hesi is a little easier than the TEAS, you will probably do fine on that and have a pretty good shot at getting in at TCC also....especially if you retake chem. I had a C, 2 B's, and an A and was able to get in to WC, and I have a decent shot at getting into TCC but of course we are still waiting on them. I did well on my TEAS too. I wouldn't suggest making the grades I did, but it is possible for sure. lol.
