Weatherford College Fall 2012 start

Published

Well, I am not sure if someone has started this topic already but I wanted to find others who will be applying for Weatherford's ADN program this application period. I am scheduling my TEAS for next week. I am excited to apply and see how things go. Would love to hear from others who are applying this round as well. Thanks and Happy New Year!!!!

PS I have been taking my pre reqs at TCC.

I took my TEAS again today...and came out with a grand total of 17 points! I ran out of time on the reading (grrrrr) but I am proud to be able to turn in my application for fall!!!!!!!!

Idslees, 17 points I think is great!!!!! I hope I can pull off another point, I would love to have 17 pts :)

You will be fine, good job!

Yeah Idslees!!!!!! Awesome job. I am so proud of you.Simcr, thank you for the words of positivity. I need to just relax and remember that I have done the very best I can.How many days till deadline? I am so impatient....haha!

Sorry, for the delay in posting. Yes, I think it would be beneficial to start reading, at least over the summer. We didn't get our book lists until orientation and we were all trying to rush and read before class started. For most of us, Pharmacology was the hardest class. I can give you a heads on up on what we did first, it might not be exactly the same...but it would help you I think. In our class about 1/2 of the 17's were in and 1/2 were on the alternate list, we also had some 16's get called up from the alternate list. Think positive! A lot of people apply to WC and TCC, almost all that I know who got into both turned down WC...so it opens up spots! Also, starting in the fall the Wise county campus will be starting their nursing program. So, some people who live closer to that campus might be applying there.

Formack, for the session you started last fall, were they still accepting version 4 of the TEAS test? i thought they still were, so I was hoping that would make the odds better for fall this time

So from what Formack says, 17 points puts you "on the fence". In other words, it could go either way. You may be an alternate or you may get accepted. Unless, this round is different. I want to think positive but I also want to be realistic. I will hope for the best.

Simcr, I was also wondering if the TEAS V is much different than the old version. That would be strange if they accepted scores from two different tests but maybe they do.

Cheers!

I really think that the application period that Formack was in, accepted both the TEAS 4 and the TEAS 5, spring acceptance was the last period you could use it for although I don't think there were any because they could only be a year old. Wait for formack to post with a definate answer. TEAS 5 was much harder than TEAS 4 and the scores are considerably lower all around for the TEAS 5, but in Fall they still had to accept the version 4 because they were switching over and 4 was still valid if it was within a certain time frame. I think spring acceptance shows what scores are going to work. If 17's made it into the spring as accepted with only 20 slots, I think you are good.

Did you guys apply to both Weatherford and Wise campus? KL said to turn in two separate applications. I most definitely will doing that.

Didn't know about this new campus. Tell me about. Should I apply?

I didn't know about the new campus either until Formack mentioned it. I looked it up but for me, the drive will be to far, I do live in Weatherford but the new campus is close to bridgeport. I don't want to spend that much time on the road and with my kids, I need to drop them off for school before I head in and that would be way to early. That is cool though, a brand new campus, it looks cool.

I looked it up as well. Way too far for me too. Simcr, I have an 8 year old son. How many kids do you have?

I have 6. 5 are still at home...one is in WC as well...so she is a big help. What I'm not sure about is whether the new campus means an EXTRA 20 students...or are those 20 included in the 40 for fall?
