Weatherford College Fall 2012 start

Published

Well, I am not sure if someone has started this topic already but I wanted to find others who will be applying for Weatherford's ADN program this application period. I am scheduling my TEAS for next week. I am excited to apply and see how things go. Would love to hear from others who are applying this round as well. Thanks and Happy New Year!!!!

PS I have been taking my pre reqs at TCC.

Are we allowed to make copies of our results for turning in?

I just turned in the printed copy, I don't know. You can print more than one copy, you can go online to atitesting.com right now and log into your account, click on the test results and it will show you your copy again and you can print it. Your actual test and your practice test results are there and always open to look at again and print.

29 days! I guess in reality it really is more like 10 weeks till we know. I wish we knew what we are up against so far. Like how many applicants and average point totals etc. Must be patient!

It is definitely going to be a long, painful wait. I think that you are in great spot, even if 17's are alternates I really think that your overall score will put you at the top of the list. I have two friends in the program now who were on the alternate list with scores lower than mine...and got in!! We will get there!!

Yes, we will get there! If not this round maybe the next. I had an over all of 82.7 so I am not sure how good that is. I hope they don't frown upon me being in APII and Micro right now. We will see I guess.

they base acceptance purely on points, if you are in AP and micro, you get C's and the points off your GPA based on that. So if you have a total of 17 points, you are the same as everyone with 17 points, doesn't matter if you are currently in a class right now, the only other thing that is taken into considerations is your overall score on the TEAS, that is how they rank everyone in the same point system, like all 17s. that is what nailed me on the alternate list, I had 16 pts like the others but my score was lower on the TEAS so I was further down the line.

I was just checking with NCTC about the LVN program just in case. They now require the TEAS for their entrance exam. She told me that I could take the TEAS again, but it would ONLY be good for them. I thought it was a TEAS rule, not school by school.

Its a school decision, some schools only allow 1 attempt and others have more leniant rules like WC where you can take it twice every six months. What about the LVN program at WC? Did you look into there's? What is NCTC?

North Central Texas College. They have campuses in Gainesville, Bowie, and Corinth. I have a friend who finished their LVN program and has applied for the fall LVN-RN transition at WC. I'm just not sure about the idea of applying to an LVN program and missing the opportunity of applying for the RN program again for several semesters. I'm just confused at this point, and feel that I'm grasping at straws.

Thanks for the info Simcr. I guess I will just have to wait and see. Not sure if an 82.7 will cut it. I guess it depends on the other 17s.

Idslees, you can apply for more than one program if you want. My friend applied to the Respitory, LVN, and RN program last year and just had to pick which one she was going to do. That way if you are set on having a backup plan you can.

Kaltenrieder, you need to quit worrying, I see no reason that 17s wont make it in if they did in spring with half the slots available.

Idslees, there are a lot of options out there.

Take Simcr's advice to me and don't worry too much. Apply at other programs to see whats out there but also remember that you have a great chance at getting into the RN program!

Have you taken Sociology? TCC has a great Dental Hygiene program. Oh, and drop off your app. at Wise Campus if you haven't already.
