Weatherford College Fall 2012 start

Published

Well, I am not sure if someone has started this topic already but I wanted to find others who will be applying for Weatherford's ADN program this application period. I am scheduling my TEAS for next week. I am excited to apply and see how things go. Would love to hear from others who are applying this round as well. Thanks and Happy New Year!!!!

PS I have been taking my pre reqs at TCC.

Oops! Not sure if the only difference in prereqs for Dental Hygiene as opposed to nursing includes more than just Sociology. It used to be pretty much both the same at TCC a few years ago (nursing and hygiene). It may have changed since the last I checked into it was about 2 years ago. Not sure if the drive would be super far for you or not.

Hello! I am wanting to apply to WC ADN program. However, the deadline for the Fall semester is Feb. 31st according to the website. So, I am in a rush to get all my stuff turned in.. Yikes!!! I want to know is anyone has taken the Comprehensive A&P Test??? And I would like to get some advice for the TEAS???? Suggestions on what to study? Study guides?

Thank you!!! :)

Yea Agua, you found us! I am studying for the TEAS right now, I took it in July for the Spring application period and did not do as well as I would like. I will probably take it in a week or so, then if I need to study some more and retest. I am using the study guide from ATI and also the practice test online, they are great to give you a true idea of the test and how you are doing on time.

What is the comprehensive AP test? I did not take that.

Hey Aqua! So you took API and II but it's more than 5 years old? My AP classes are recent so I have not had that experience. The TEAS v I have and like Simcr I got the studying tools really helped me. FYI Feb 29 is deadline. Don't worry you have plenty of time. Go for it! So glad you found us!

Do you guys know what days/times the ADN students attend classes and/or clinicals?? Just wondering.

It posted on WC's website!

Thank you Simcr! Wow, I would probably quit my job with that schedule. I currently work weekends (38 hours)and take APII and Micro during the week. I am tired but doing well. The Schedule above looks pretty busy so I assume we will be studying all weekend.

I was thinking about that schedule. For spring they were off on Tues, Fri and they did not go in until 12-1 on the days they have class. I was trying to figure out with the fall schedule when would you study! you only get one day off during the week and for me, by the time i get home from class, I have kids homework, dinner, and handoff with my husband who works nights...I think i will be to tired to study by the time the kids are in bed :) AAAAHHHH

Thanks so much for posting the schedule! We are working now to come up with a schedule for the family that covers me being gone most of the time. I may be putting the cart before the horse...but better safe than sorry! Our seven year old is most worried about his meals...poor baby!

There is nothing wrong with making plans in advance. I asked for most of my nursing stuff like stethoscope, watch, etc for Christmas just in case I got in for January. I am going to go ahead and buy a few of the books and begin reading over the summer to prepare. I agree with your thought, its better to be prepared just in case we get in :)

For fall last semester, we went to school 4 days. You sign up, first come first serve for monday or Friday class and then everyone goes Tues, Wed and Thurs. Here is an example of my schedule for first semester:

Mon 8-12 and 1-5

Tues 8-11 and 12-4

Wed--6:30am-2:30pm Clinical

Thurs 8-12

Friday OFF

I have 2 kiddos ages 6 & 7 but I don't work. We have several people who do work full time and have families. It is do able! I made 2 A's and 2 B's. Plan on making easier/quicker meals or crockpot meals. I studied at night after my kids went to bed and set aside time on weekends. But, I still had a life.

Tuesdays are a little hard because you have class all day long, then you have to go to your clinical site and pick your patient. Then do your pre-work(paperwork due the next morning at 6:30). So, Tuesday's are a long day.
