Hi everyone. Just wanted to start a post for the 2015 Associates degree of Nursing Fall program at Weatherford College and see who else will be applying!
I have 31 points before my TEAS. I probably wont be taking it for a couple more months. I've finished all of my pre and co requisites and have my 15 hours of BSN credits so I'm super excited to finally be able to apply :)
I wonder what the point cut off will be this semester? I'm hoping to get at least 6 points off my TEAS but 8 would be great! Comment if you're applying this upcoming semester! Cant wait!
What are the requirments on the shoes,aside from being white? I saw a pair of nikes the other day that I've got my sights set on, but I'm afraid to buy anything until after orientation..

Solid white (they will allow a small colored logo but that's it) and leather tops (so they are easily cleaned....if somehow you end up with bodily fluids on your feet they do not soak through) and must have a back.....that's what we were told at our orientation
I got the Landau unisex reversible True Red scrubs! No didn't get patches waiting until orientation to get that! Yeah I'm waiting on the supplies until I see what all we get in our skills kit!
in ours last semester you had a BP cuff and all of your supplies for skills labs (ng tubes, catheters, iv start kits, trach care kits....etc....) no scissors or pen light. who knows what may have changed since last semester though
You will for sure need a pen light and some bandage scissors for clinicals (although I never used my scissors for anything except cutting paper the first semester lol.....I am sure they will come in handy much more this semester).......My biggest suggestion....buy a planner....A GOOD ONE with lots of room to write....(If you're like me anyway) there is a lot to remember....what to read/assignments/exams (and everything else in life.....I have 2 kids so I have to write down EVERYBODY's schedules or I lose my mind lol)....that is the one thing that I definitely use EVERY day
Non nursing program question about WC, does anyone happen to know when financial aid refunds are released? I have looked everywhere for an answer to this question and can't seem to find it all I found was that it is not released until after the census date but I have no idea when that is

its usually a couple of weeks after the semester starts....I'll look and see if the date for this semester has been released yet or not

Got it! One of the fa advisors emailed me back and said its about 24-30 days after classes start 10 days to get to census then about 14 days to disburse

they do give you a credit you can use in their book store before the semester begins so you can buy books and things that you need....I miss getting it before the semester began (thats how TCC did it when I went there) so much nicer to have the money to do what you needed before school started

Agreed that's where I came from too so this was a total surprise to me. I'm glad they give you the credit too I almost freaked out like how are people supposed to buy books! Lol
From what I understand , I may be totally wrong, But I believe the bookstore has credit of our financial aid so that we can purchase what we need since refunds don't happen like at other schools until after semester starts. I hope , this will include lab supplies, and skills pack, ect.
