Weatherford ADN Fall 2015

Published

Hi everyone. Just wanted to start a post for the 2015 Associates degree of Nursing Fall program at Weatherford College and see who else will be applying!

I have 31 points before my TEAS. I probably wont be taking it for a couple more months. I've finished all of my pre and co requisites and have my 15 hours of BSN credits so I'm super excited to finally be able to apply :)

I wonder what the point cut off will be this semester? I'm hoping to get at least 6 points off my TEAS but 8 would be great! Comment if you're applying this upcoming semester! Cant wait!

when did you see this? I messaged the nursing Director at WC and she said the ISBN numbers will be changing for this semester , meaning books will be different. She said to be careful. I really need hard copy books as well ,,but not sure if it will help if books are not the same .

they were posted yesterday.....I can't imagine them changing the whole set of books (then again I couldn't imagine them going to all e books either....does going to all ebooks cut the textbook cost for yall at all?)...I know there are newer editions of some of the books than were sold in the sets from my class...some of the students who purchased their books straight from the publisher ended up with some of the newer editions (but there are very few changes in those)...newer editions would change the ISBN number though.

I would definitely double check but I can't imagine them being a completely different set of books all together

i emailed director , she will give me the ISBN codes tomorrow . She said either way , still will have to purchase book package from them or publisher, she said it may not be cost effective since all study /lecture and homework will be form the ebook .

well hopefully it's like our book package....we have ebooks of all of our text books...they are exactly the same (with some supplemental additions)....the page numbers don't always match up exactly which is a pain when you are using both the e books and hard books but it's convenient to be able to access your books everywhere....and not have to carry them every day.....

send me a message if you want to compare the ISBN #s to my book package when you get them and I'd be more than happy to send them to you. It's crappy that they went to ebooks....some people just can't study that way :-/ I know it wouldn't have worked well for me

Thanks, I got another email today from director, and she is waiting on publisher to send her numbers . She said she requested them but still waiting.

Has anybody else bought scrubs or shoes yet or is it just me?

i bought shoes and a pen light yesterday. I was told by a graduate to not buy scrbs yes as graduates "donate" their scrubs with patches since they dont EVER want to see them again lol

I purchased shoes and pen light yesterday, i was told by recent grad to not but scrubs since many grads donate their scrubs with patches

Lol yes true but I think I was getting a little excited yesterday when I bought them! Only two more weeks until orientation! It seems like this time has taken forever!

I know!!!! i have been going nuts! try to stay busy , but my mind is racing about school. I bought Cherokee brand sort of clog shoes yesterday, thry were really inexpensive too, I didnt want to spend much on them in case I hate them lol UGLY WHITE though, but VERY comfortable.

Yeah i bought some white Landau ScrubZone clogs which were also inexpensive. I'm not a fan of white shoes by any means but at least they are comfy lol. Still not the Adidas that I really wanted and probably wouldn't be able to wear anyway haha! I myself have been keeping myself busy by picking up extra hours at work and just trying to keep myself occupied.

what scrubs did you get ? did you get patches? I was also told to get a good pen light with puple gage and a good pair of surg. scissors.

I got the Landau unisex reversible True Red scrubs! No didn't get patches waiting until orientation to get that! Yeah I'm waiting on the supplies until I see what all we get in our skills kit!
