Weatherford ADN Fall 2015

Published

Hi everyone. Just wanted to start a post for the 2015 Associates degree of Nursing Fall program at Weatherford College and see who else will be applying!

I have 31 points before my TEAS. I probably wont be taking it for a couple more months. I've finished all of my pre and co requisites and have my 15 hours of BSN credits so I'm super excited to finally be able to apply :)

I wonder what the point cut off will be this semester? I'm hoping to get at least 6 points off my TEAS but 8 would be great! Comment if you're applying this upcoming semester! Cant wait!

I got my letter and I made it!! I GOT ACCEPTED INTO THE SONOGRAPHY PROGRAM AT WC!!!!! :woot:

congrats!

congrats!

Thank you!! :)

Bought my stethoscope today woohoo! This just all seems a bit surreal right now!

what one did you get? I was told the one in clinical packs/ skills pack from WC is not good , that you cannot really hear anything on it.

there was not a stethoscope in our skills pack this semester....but I've used some of the cheap ones they had up there and couldn't hear a thing through them....

I have the littman cardiology III (It was a gift....I definitely wouldn't have spent that much at the time if it was coming out of my pocket)....but it's fantastic....I know a lot of people in our class have the lower end littman and haven't had any complaints...and a few have MDF brand and I haven't heard any complaints there either....

I definitely suggest not buying a $15 but I also don't feel like you have to spend $100+ either....

I bought the Littmann Cardiology III Black edition! I read a ton of reviews on them and they all seemed to be the most positive. I will say that it was rather pricey though as well like TLizS stated!

Looking at watches .. any thoughts of best kind? I have other friends who are nurses, and about half say Casio "G Shock" or Casio"Baby G" are great.

I just wear my every day watch my husband bought me for christmas....it's a fossil....water resistant so I don't worry when washing my hands a million times and really cute.....I haven't encountered any

Thing yet that made me hesitant to wear it....and wipes down easily at the end of clinicals

But I have no suggestions on what's best....what I have has worked just fine for me....and water resistant/proof so you don't have to take it off every time you wash your hands and easy to sanitize

I have a nice fossil watch that my husband bought me for valentine's day, but I'm not sure if it's water resistant.. it's has the metal snaps instead of a cloth strap so idk I was hoping that it would work for nursing school lol maybe not. And I was also planning on buying the littman cardiology iii. I read good things about it.

I just looked and my watch is a 5 atm so I'll probably just stuck with it.. from what I understand 10 atm is best 5atm is middle and 3 atm is lowest. And it should say on the back of the watch.

My mom just bought me a super nerdy watch that looks like a scrap book project. It's the thought that counts, but it's a leather band and I'm afraid it would get ruined.

Minerror is a metal band and 5atm....this is the information I found when choosing mine about water resistance....

3ATM - Water resistant to 30 meters (100 feet). Will withstand splashes of water or rain but should not be worn while swimming or diving.5ATM - Water tested to 50 meters (165 feet). Suitable for showering or swimming in shallow water.10ATM - Water tested to 100 meters (330 feet). Suitable for swimming and snorkeling.
