Hi everyone. Just wanted to start a post for the 2015 Associates degree of Nursing Fall program at Weatherford College and see who else will be applying!
I have 31 points before my TEAS. I probably wont be taking it for a couple more months. I've finished all of my pre and co requisites and have my 15 hours of BSN credits so I'm super excited to finally be able to apply :)
I wonder what the point cut off will be this semester? I'm hoping to get at least 6 points off my TEAS but 8 would be great! Comment if you're applying this upcoming semester! Cant wait!
I'm not applying for Tcc because 1) their program is so difficult to get into simply because there are so many applicants and 2) because I've been an on again off again student there since 2007 and because of a lot of mistakes I made early on with dropping and not dropping classes I can no longer get financial aid there because my attempted hours is more than my completed and I can't afford it anymore so after this semester I am transferring to WC and taking classes there while I wait to hear if I get in for spring. If I don't get the answer I'm hoping for I plan to branch out and apply to el centro in Dallas possibly hill college and navarro college but those are even crazier drives.
Hopefully I will not be applying anywhere :), but if I do not get into WC or WCWC this admittance period I will be applying to WC, TCC, El Centro and El Centro Northlake Campus, and UTA at the end of the spring semester. I would prefer a two year program which is why I wont be applying to TCU or TWU, UTA is just a last resort backup plan for me. That being said, if I do have to apply to all of these schools Weatherford's program will still be my top pick.
Maybe if you found an accelerated program? But I've never heard of anyone finishing the weatherford sooner than 4. You should ask the head of nursing! She can tell you everything. And good luck :) how many points would you have had with the old point system? Alot of us lost a few points thanks to the point change! Whether that's good or bad is yet to be determined...
I was just curious because it's only like 34 credit hours. So I was hoping to take like 15 hour semesters. Lol but I wasn't sure about the old program. I made As and Bs for prereqs and coreqs and a 72 on the TEAS. I'm currently in the nursing prereqs at Tarleton right now for my BSN but I wanted to keep my options open!
Does anyone know if we can finish the ADN program in less than 4 semesters? I have 28 pointsso I'm super nervous now.
I don't think there is any way to finish it in less than 4 (@WC....other schools may differ)
I will say....it goes fast once you start....I was dreading 2 MORE YEARS of school (plus another year for the BSN bridge afterward).....but this semester FLEW by.....I can hardly believe we only have like 5 weeks left

Yeah i would geuss it would be more considering the traffic. It gets awful in the afternoon. What other schools are you applying to? I'm trying to open my mind to other possibilities besides weatherford but I live right down the road from the college so it's difficult for me haha.
