Hi everyone. Just wanted to start a post for the 2015 Associates degree of Nursing Fall program at Weatherford College and see who else will be applying!
I have 31 points before my TEAS. I probably wont be taking it for a couple more months. I've finished all of my pre and co requisites and have my 15 hours of BSN credits so I'm super excited to finally be able to apply :)
I wonder what the point cut off will be this semester? I'm hoping to get at least 6 points off my TEAS but 8 would be great! Comment if you're applying this upcoming semester! Cant wait!
Good luck you guys!!! I hope you all get in!!! :) The director mentioned yesterday that the cutoff for the transition Program would be in The 20s. She told me the exact number but i can't remember!!
Yay that's great news since my points were in the 30's this year! I am STILL patiently waiting for my letter to arrive LOL
hey all, I had to go to WC today to u=turn in some grades . While there, I talked to KL a little about apps that were coming through . She said she had NO IDEA on how the points were looking as they still had so many app tpo go through still. She said that they really have had no time to do much looking.
just a little FYI.
She did say however, that this round will be different than ANY before. She said it's gonna be hard to tell till just before letters go out.

Oh goodness... That's TOTOALLY different than what she was telling me on Monday...So this means that they still have a good deal of applications to go through, which means I'm guessing it will be closer to 8 weeks than 6! I wonder if it will be different as in it will be a lower cut off... That's really what Im thinking because on Monday I was telling her that everyone I had spoken to had lost a good 3 points and she nodded her head and was like "Yes, everyone lost at least 3 or four points!". But I guess there really is no way to know until the letters come out... Im probably going to go crazy.
I have a question for everyone traditional ADN and transition LVN applicants....I have been tossing back and forth the idea of applying for the LVN program and then bridging when I finish rather than waiting until this December to apply for the next fall term because it's so far away lol I just want some insight like LVN's do you wish you had just completed the pre-reqs then applied traditionally or was it a good route to take? Should I just stop being such a whiny butt that it's going to be December before I get to apply and be patient? (By the way patience is NOT my virtue) any advice would be great!
I will be applying for LVN as well , it really is the same amount of time and I have spoken to several that says it's a great way to go . I hope I do well on the compass lol I have already taken it and made 98 on reading section and only a 65 on that math! not sure what happened there lol

Is application closed because on the website it says it is open until the last day of March but I thought I saw someone on here say they already got their acceptance letter?

I believe the people who are receiving their letters right now are the LVN-RN transition students.....current LVNs who are transitioning to RN.......their classes start in the summer..the LVN program application period should still be open

I don't know I'm so torn over what to do part of me wants to apply and get started and bridge but then part of me says no just get through fall semester and apply for ADN but what if I don't get in? Or if I do it will still be another 6 months before the program even starts....I don't know! :0

I was in the same position when I didn't get in the firs time I applied....I was so torn on what I wanted to do...another 6 months felt like an eternity and I just didn't want to drag it out any longer....I mean I am at a point in my life that I don't want to drag this out any longer.....
BUT I'm honestly glad I didn't go the LVN route and bridge.....I took a couple of classes toward my BSN (because I already knew I am applying to a BSN bridge when I finsh).....I retook the TEAS and made sure the classes I took would be improve my points status WHILE applying to my BSN pre reqs....and thankfully got in on my second try
LVN would have been ANOTHER step in this lengthy school process for me.....and I just wasn't up for it....not saying it's not a good route for other people but I couldn't bear the though of ANOTHER year of school
that being said......if I was in a different situation (say early 20's no kids....etc.....) I might have decided to jump right into LVN and do the bridge.....but I am nearly 30 with a husband and kids and I feel like I have been in school for EVER lol
